For those who don’t remember, Tannenbaum was the GM of the New York Jets when they hired Ryan in 2009. Together they staged an all-out assault against the Patriots on their stranglehold in the AFC. It culminated in their epic upset in Foxborough in January of 2011, knocking New England from the playoffs and reaching the conference championship for the second-straight season.
Tannenbaum is actually a disciple of Bill Belichick. The two worked together way back in the 1990s for the Cleveland Browns. Few people have shown a knack for understanding what Belichick does and by default what it takes to beat him. Those Jet teams regularly gave the Patriots fits in their divisional clashes. One can bet they were thrilled when Tannenbaum was unceremoniously fired in 2013.

Ross hiring of this guy maybe the best thing he's done since buying the team. Memo to fin fans: this guy is slowly putting a team together not only to challenge the Patsies but also to beat them. He knows a good player and will not hesitate to get them. Don't be surprise on draft day if Miami trade way up to grab a player he likes.

Vernon Ghoulson and Mark Sanchez are not good players.

Now we're giving Tannenbaum the credit for the Jets playing the Pats tough? What will they think of next...

I just wonder what the Pat's defense is going to be like without Revis, Wilfork and Browner..they also signed Fletcher from the Eagles at CB, and he is horrible. Time will tell.

I actually have much greater confidence in Hickey's assessment of the players than Tannenbaum's. However, Tannenbaum is a wheeler and dealer and he is not afraid to take some risks. Provided that these guys can work together, this could be a good combination.

Why? It's not like Hickey as picked any superstars.

Bc he didn't mess up our first two picks. James and Landry were good as rookies. That's why i feel good about him at least. How many 2nd rounders did Ireland miss on

Hickey to me was solid first year. Much more than I can say for Ireland. I'm not sure why people rip on hickey. He inherited a hot mess from Ireland. I think he nailed Landry and James. Turner Tripp and Aikens could turn into something. In one draft he may have hit on more picks than Ireland did in 5-7 years

All that matters is how MT does for us, now,and so far so good. Talk to me after the draft but I'm feeling better about the FO than I have in ages. It seems like the powers that be have some brains for a change. Color me encouraged!!!

If all is true, I hate that he has come in and taken over; I like what hickey has done; I dont like what Tannenbaum has done (past). Let's see what happen
