I just bet my co-worker 20 bucks that Mike Wallace doesnt reach 1000 yards this season. Is that a smart bet or not? (Edit: AP just reported to camp today)

Well AP reporting to camp certainly doesn't help your chances. PA to Wallace is dangerous if Bridgewater has a good deep ball! (which he does I believe) But then again he is a whiner and he plays on a crappy team in a tough division so he may end up getting cast aside because of his ****ty attitude. I wouldn't have made that bet knowing about AP. But then again it's only 20 bucks and it gives you a good reason to watch some more football.

I don't know why 1000 yards became some milestone. 23 WR/TEs reached 1000 yards last year. 24 the year before. AP takes some pressure off the passing game and Bridgewater is a good young QB. That being said, he still never reached that lofty goal here  It's only $20. If it was more, you'd probably be sweating it during the last couple of games, because he'll probably get close.

Yeah he originally wanted a "with or without" AP bet to which I said no freaking way. He said 800 hundred yards without him and over 1000 with him. I just said 1000 yards with or without him. So thats what we settled on. Now he's all happy because AP reported to camp!

Risky bet. Wallace is going to have a big year in Minny. Will constantly get open deep (as he did in Miami), especially with AP back forcing teams to keep a S in the box. And Teddy throws an excellent deep ball. I think Wallace tops 1K easily.

I also still think the Dolphins did the right thing. Both parties benefit from Wallace's trade to Minny.

id bet on the over personally, especially with AP showing up

Guaranteed he'll run his mouth for over 1000 yards!

My reasoning for the bet is because he is the Vikes only threat. Patterson cant run routes, wallace definately isnt going to help mentor him or any other WR and they really have nobody after that. Rudolph is ok, Charles Johnson seemed shifty last year but not worried about him, Jerius Wright, not worried, and a practice squad guy Theilen. Not really worried. AP is the biggest help to Wallace, not the other recievers.

Week 17 ... Wallace sits at 999 yards ... AP runs one in for the TD from the one yard line ... Wallace pouts, and refuses to re-enter the game ... you win $20

Bridgewater's deep ball isn't terrific by any means. He's not going to hit him on the 60 yard bombs but he has the touch and anticipation to hit him on deeper posts which wallace can get separation on and take it the distance
