Mike Wallace's 5 for 51 with 1 TD statline isn't all that impressive, but he did something that no other Dolphin on the field did today which was actually make the plays that were there for him to make. On top of that, he was again available for a big play this his QB simply did not give him any chance to make. If Wallace had made any of those crucial drops everyone would be crucifying him, but when others make those kinds of mistakes the player never gets the same criticism unless they are Lamar Miller. Whether its Wallace or Marshall our number one receivers get undue criticism and I get a little tired of it. Every skill player on offense today besides Wallace made crucial mistakes, starters and backups alike. To my eyes, Wallace and Marshall have a game changing potential that few other guys who have been on this offense in recent years have had, yet they are the most hated members of this offense because we don't appreciate the plays they do make yet bitch constantly about the ones they don't. What's also sad to me is that I've seen both guys poorly utilized by the staffs and the QB's they were forced to play with.

I can only imagine how Wallace would be the focal point of everything wrong with this team had he looked as lost on the field at times as Hartline, Miller, and Sims today. I can't stand the idea that when our most talented players fail sometimes we blast them for it, and yet when the guys whose ability is much more limited mess up, we tend to forget about it. I don't agree with doing that, so I'm here to say that pretty much everyone on offense sucked today but Wallace.

I agree Wallace balled. I sure would have liked to see RT's ball placed better on that bomb.

Wallace did play well but for a guy with that kind of speed you would like to see him open more often. He only really creates desperation on comebacks and deep passes. I feel like he never gets separation on slants or routes that are intermediate where he can catch and run after.

Wallace has played hard the last two games. With Moreno out other than Wallace no one else on offense stepped up and the QB played a bad game. If Tannehill was more accurate, Wallace would be killing it.

I agree, he was the best player today, even showed some fire on that hit where the Buforillo player lost his helmet. If he played this way consistantly I don't think anyone would complain.

He provided the only separation the team had on offense all day.

Wallace should be scoring 10 TDs easy in this offense. He'll be lucky to have half of that the way the QB is playing.

Wallace had a nice game. No question.

That just shows you how bad we were today, not how good Wallace is...

2 TDs in 2 games says hi.

He was ballin' today...that TD catch, which was also a perfect throw, was beautiful while being held/mugged by the defender. THAT'S the kinda fight he needs...was great to see it.

He's actually been playing his ass off for like 10 games now. He's just not being rewarded with chemistry.

That said, he still has his limitations.

i agree...i wasnt talking about just today though, i meant last year and the 2 games this year as a whole. I wish he would take a slant to the house.

One of the most bizarre and unexplainable things to me in the Sparano and Ireland regimes is the ABSOLUTE LOVE AFFAIR with limited players -- turning a complete blind eye to the radical limitations and making excuse after excuse for putting them in skill positions.

And then when reality sinks in and someone realizes that we need at least ONE playmaker, then we have to go out and overpay for a playmaker WR and TE -- meanwhile keeping a stable full of the same kinds of limited players. Which fans puff up and overvalue, but when matched against real teams they crap the bed, like today.

Powerful post. Lotsa truth.

We need skill at skill positions. Big time. We need WRs across the board that can make teams play for the coverage the Bills were playing today. We need a TE that can do the same. Clay was so overmatched today -- not even funny. Same w. Sims. Bills had two TEs that were making plays -- plays neither Sims nor Clay will ever make downfield. We're really hurting from the Ireland drafts that loved consistent mediocrity.

Hopefully another Hickey draft will help.

Wallace deserves a lot of credit. He's been a beast these first two games even while his QB is a trainwreck. That TD today was spectacular. Seriously it might be one of the best TD catches a Dolphins receiver has ever made.
