Westhoff was on Joe Rose's WQAM show this morning. Westhoff said he's a good guy but knows nothing about football and is the reason why he left the Jets. Said he "likes to make the big splash." Isn't a football guy.
Said about Suh, "If you give a guy 'Screw you' money, you better make sure he doesn't 'screw you.'"

Ross needs to clean house as soon as this season ends. What we all feared when this wanna-be was hired is coming true.
 
Tannenbaum isn't going anywhere and don't care what Westhoff has to say even if I don't like Tannebaum.
 
End of season, he will put his own staff in place (I don't think it matters what Campbell does...) Then we will have to suffer for another 4 years at least. We are screwed with this guy for a long time. Really need Ross to die...seriously.

this means Ross will cling onto TBaum for years cuz he's a "good man" SMH
 
no doubt tannebaum knows nothing about football...his time on nfl network as an analyst should have told you that

Tannenbaum will be given his Ross shot, which Dr. Phin pointed out seems to be about 4 years...after which they will fire him, but not the coach and the whole thing never gets fixed.
 
yet he stockpiled Mike's teams w/ their only chances to get to and win SBs. amazing how a guy who knows nothing about football can do that.

as far as his time on NFL network, many former players/coaches/execs look like buffoons in front of the camera. That means nothing.
 
No question about it. I think we've all been saying. My only hope is that since he's not a that great of a football guy, maybe he learned something at the Jesters and decides to surround himself with competent football guys. It's a long shot, I know, since we're dealing with ego's ... but one can hope anyway.
 
Yet the furthest Westoff got in his career was when Tannenbaum was the GM.
 
I am guessing this is why Westhoff has harsh words:

not bad for a guy who doesn't know football.

But then, he said “there were changes with Mike.”

“On draft day Mike kind of closed the doors to the war room and it was invitation only,” Westhoff told the Palm Beach Post. “It was very upsetting to me. I watched the draft on television and we drafted a couple of guys that frankly I totally rejected.

when he tried to talk about personnel on nfl network i was laughing my ass off...
 
This is vintage "he never played before" stuff from men that have been in the trenches their entire career. Westoff was a good, but overrated special teams coach. Teddy Ginn owned him!
 
Isn't Westoff one of the most respected Special teams coaches (I know he is retired now) to have worked in the league?
