Mike Williams is definitely on the trading block this week, according to MLive.com.
This is stating the obvious. Williams has been on the trading block since Rod Marinelli showed up in Detroit. Despite the presence of old USC coach Lane Kiffin in the NFL, there's no reason to think another team will give something up for him.

I would be interested in him if he were to become a tool for the red zone and a short passing game that allows him to run the ball.

Does this pave the way for them to draft another WR? With Williams being traded (possibly), losing Hakim (forget if he played there last year) and cutting Rogers last year, who do they have aside from Furrey and Williams?

Any body else remember when Mel Kiper Jr. said this guy was the best player in the draft, even after sitting out a year ?

lol, yes. To hear him talk, Kiper was more sure of this than anything else in his life. On the other hand, not many of us would watch a draft show if the talking heads just say, "time will tell," every time they're asked to predict how a player will fare in the NFL.

You know, as much as people hate on this guy, I really have to think that there is more to the story. Last season, Marinelli put in ridiculous weight goals that Williams had to meet for playing time, almost intentionally forcing him to sit out. When the heat was on, he lowered those weight targets. I would like to see Williams go to another team where the situation isn't completely ****ed up and see what he can do there. No way I'd write him off as a bust yet.

I would give up a 7th rnd pick for him but seeing as SF doesnt have one I'd be willing to part with our 6th to give him a chance to compete with our subpar WR corp.

Would be absolutely worth a late pick if possible. He could be great in the red zone, short yd passing situations.
