Shalom all,

I know that I haven't been around much. I've been trying to deal with some personal issues. I haven't resolved them, but the world doesn't stop for me, so I hope to post more often nowadays.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what the minimum age is for Olympic participation. It's not for me, of course, I'm 40. However, I'm close to a family in Tel Aviv and one of their sons, IMO, is Olympic material. He's very athletic, excelling in all the sports in which he participates. He's also fiercely competitive. He's only 11 right now so, of course, Beijing is out of the question, but is London a possibility? I searched for an answer to a minimum age, but couldn't find one. Is anyone here a former or current Olympian or knows someone who is?

I don't think there is a minimum age for the Olympics? But I think some of the sanctioning bodies have put a minimum for athletes in certain sports...I think women gymnasts have to be over 16 now?....but I think in other sports, if you are good enough to compete you can compete at any age (young or old).
