Minny/Golden State Talking KG Trade

The Warriors and Timberwolves are currently talking about a trade that would send Kevin Garnett and a filler (probably Marko Jaric) to Golden State in exchange for Monta Ellis,Adonle Foyle,Andris Biedris, $10 Million trade exemption, and probably Brandon Wright. Those close to the situation say that the trade talks are heating up. KG is said to be receptive about going to Oakland, but still prefers Phoenix.

if the trade goes through, the teams would look like this...
G-State
PG-Baron Davis/Marco Jaric
SG-Marco Belinelli/Kelena Azkabuke
SF-Stephen Jackson/either Matt Barnes or Mickael Pietrus (both are FA)
PF-Al Harrington/Stephane Lasme
C- Kevin Garnett/Patrick O'Byrant

Minny
PG-Randy Foye/Troy Hudson (for now)
SG-Monta Ellis/Reshad McCants
SF-Ricky Davis/Corey Brewer
PF-Jawan Howard/Brandon Wright
C-Marc Blount/Andres Biedris

If that's the case, look for Golden State to be no worse then the 6th seed in the West next year, with Minnesota picking in the lottery for a few seasons, IMO.

2 teams needing to go in two directions. Goldn State will go as far as Baron and Nellie can carry them so KG woul help improve them a lot. Plus, they've shown the last several years (despite having bad teams) that they can put together a decent bench.

Minny does not have the pieces to trade to build around KG, but Golden State has the pieces that can help Minny get better quicker.

Well Minny didn't win with KG and they won't win w/o him. They'll get some young players they can develop and then turn into a better team in a few seasons.

I like Golden State. Hopefully if they add KG they can take Phoenix on for the division

It doesnt get much better than KG. I've loved watching him play here in Minnesota and would hate to lose him, but with that said, I would love nothing more than for him to win a championship, and everyone knows its not going to be here. I wouldnt mind it too much if he went to GS, but i personally would rather see him go to Phoenix because i believe he could win a championship there.

So they would lose Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis, Beidris, and probably Barnes....They might lose Nellie cause he wants more money, and Baron just had a full season uninjured, so that means he will miss most of the season next year...

Will they be better? Yes. Will they be contenders? No.
