Imagine the end of the game if only down 7, instead of 10. Huge difference in the type of plays you call and how you go about using timeouts, etc.

Little mistakes like that are difficult to overcome for an average football team.

The fact of the matter that field goal was consolation points anyway. We should have scored a touchdown. Our offense stalled on the goaline. Blame the whole offense.

Beyond huge. My only prediction post this week was we weren't likely to score many points, not out of the teens. That was a reasonable conclusion given a weak offensive line and new QB on the road vs. a division foe. So when you forfeit 3 points that's a sizeable chunk of the likely output. It potentially changed the way the game evolved.
