Re-sign Nate Garner
Sign Mike Wallace ($12m)
Sign Eric Winston ($5m)
Sign Osi Umenyiora ($6m)
Sign Ed Reed/Charles Woodson @ FS ($5m)*
=$28m + $6m for draft picks= $34m

*One of the good things IMO about signing vets on their last leg is that they show young bucks how to be pros, while also coming off the books sooner rather than later. For instance, I see Woodson/Reed taking Reshad Jones game to a whole new level..

1 (12) - Tyler Eifert TE Notre Dame
2 (42) + 3 (82) to move up and draft Desmond Trufant or Xavier Rhodes. One has instincts, the other physicality. Both will be studs.
2 (?) - Stedman Bailey (Davone Bess' eventual replacement)
3 (77) Barret Jones OG/C Alabama
4, 5, 7, 7.....Draft BPA from the SEC (tackle, guard, running back, linebacker).

WR-Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Davone Bess, Rishard Matthews, Stedman Bailey
TE-Tyler Eifert, Micheal Egnew, Charles Clay
QB-Ryan Tannehill, Matt Moore, Pat Devlin
FB- Charles Clay, Jovorskie Lane
RB-Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas, Jonas Gray, draft pick
OL-Jonathan Martin, Eric Winston, John Jerry, Nate Garner, Will Yeatman, Richie Incognito, Josh Samuda, Barret Jones

LB-Karlos Dansby, Koa Misi, Kevin Burnett, Josh Kaddu, Austin Spitler
S- Reshad Jones, Woodson/Reed, Jonathan Amaya, Jimmy Wilson
CB- Trufant/Rhodes, Richard Marshall, Dmitiri Patterson, Deandre Presley, RJ Stanford
DL- Cameron Wake, Randy Starks, Big Paul Soliai, Jared Odrick, Osi Umenyiora, Kheeston Randall, Olivier Vernon

Time to mix young pups with old dogs and go for it all. With the amount of draft picks we have, and the veteran contracts for 2-3 year time frames, we should be comfortable in terms of salary cap for years to come.

On offense, Mike Wallace is Mike Wallace. Him being ABLE to excel at the 9 route creates space and seperation for everyone else. Tyler Eifert IMO will be a first down/touchdown machine for years to come, and will QUICKLY become Ryan Tannehill's best friend. Hartline's route running against #2 corners and his comfort with Tannehill should consistently move the chains. Davone Bess, playing alongside Wallace and Eifert, will make a pro bowl. Play action will terrify defenses, and Lamar Miller, who averaged nearly 6 yards per carry on limited touches last year, will have even more space. Daniel Thomas, who isn't the most instinctual of running backs, will also benefit from a much more open field. Charles Clay at FB (assuming his blocking is up to par) could easily slip past defenses with the newfound weaponry all over the field.

On defense, Wake and Umenyiora complement each other perfectly. Osi has the strength to set the edge (like Odrick) but can also eat up the QB thanks in part to Cameron Wake pushing the QB in his direction (Wake rushes wide, Osi bull rushes and adjusts according to the Qb's reaction.) Randy Starks and Paul Soliai...we already know what they do. The pressure should be sufficient that there isn't too much pressure on the corners, and Woodson/Reed and Reshad Jones can ball hawk, bully, and make plays.

Let me know if u find any gaps in my logic. Next years priorities will be DT, OG, LB, CB.

Couple of thoughts:

1) I think R.Jones is starting to excel period! Signing Vets like Reed/Woodson IMO just takes away time from someone else that has more long term contribution potential
2) Umenyiora is another example. He and Wake iirc are both OVER 30...
3) Scary thing about the receiver group is this: IF say Wallace goes down you have nearly the same identical can't really produce line-up from last year.

4) I ABSOLUTELY would LOVE to have Eifert...I really wish the FO is high on him or the other TE from Stanford!

Nice job with the draft.. I like the idea of moving up for Trufant... Not sure I would pay big $$$ for Reed and Osi but I do see the value of bringing in vets with winning/ championship experience

=$28m + $6m for draft picks+ 20 million already spend on Our free agent = $54m

.

you forgot to add free agent we've already sign

1 (12) - Tyler Eifert TE Notre Dame
at 12 is too high ,better value if we trade down

2 (?) - Stedman Bailey (Davone Bess' eventual replacement)
I like ,but do Ireland see a need for another WR after spend 19 million a year on the position

4, 5, 7, 7.....Draft BPA from the $EC (tackle, guard, running back, linebacker).
I see your a SEC guys that explain this

(bc i'm bored at work and stealing company money)
I kid ,I kid :d-day:

This is the year to find LB in the draft, while waiting on Dansby and Burnett to slow down

I can see where your going ....

Look at the Super Bowl champions from years past....all have a mixture of veteran talent and young pups. Considering the vacancies on our roster, and that we have so many draft picks, and also considering that ideally the vets would be taking 2-3 year contracts...i think it would be a good mix. JMO.

I can see where your going ....

1 - We had 48 million to start if im not mistaken, Hartline's cap # is 6mil and Starks is 8mil. That's 34 mil left (please be aware, i suck at math).

2 - Tyler Eifert won't make it out of the top 20 picks...I truly believe that. Plus, in this draft, i don't think anyone wants to trade up.

3 - I'm a Miami grad, but SEC players are battle tested. I think if you restricted yourself to ONLY drafting SEC players, you could field a fairly competitive team.

4 - I do agree that we have to start looking for Dansby and Burnett's replacement. Hopefully we see something from Kaddu. Personally, I love our linebacker corps as is, especially Koa Misi, but no good thing lasts forever..

I really like the idea of adding Ed Reed, especially considering the secondary could be very young. If Miami signs Wallace, there won't be big money available (most likely) for the secondary so those guys will have to be drafted. Eifert and a trade up for Trufant would be an awesome start to the draft.

rhodes or trufant with the first pick ....signed either woodson or reed to play safety, with jones and marshall secondary is set.

I like Eifert even at 12. Plug and play. day 1 starter.

Round 2 I'd go CB and WR.

I think we should look at LB in Rd 3, my choice being chase Thomas out of standford.

Other 3rd on DE.
