I spent a lot of time working on this, while I must admit I was a little bias on our picks (naturally) I think it would be an excellent scenario for our phins...I provide explanations for all picks at the bottom...

2008 NFL Mock Draft #1 by Phinfan31

Miami - Jake Long - OT - Michigan
St Louis - Chris Long - DE - Virginia
Atlanta - Matt Ryan - QB - BC
Oakland - Sedric Ellis - DT - USC
Kansas City - Vernon Gholston - DE - Ohio ST
New York Jets - Darren McFadden - RB - Arkansas
New England - DR Cromartie - CB - TSU
Ravens - Leodis McKelvin - CB - Troy
Bengels - Glenn Dorsey - DT - LSU
New Orleans - Mike Jenkins - CB - USF
Buffalo - Keith Rivers - OLB - USC
Denver - Ryan Clady - OT - Boise State
Carolina - Brian Brohm - QB - Louisville
Chicago - Branden Albert - OG - Virginia
Detriot - Dan Conner - OLB - Penn State
Arizona - Phillip Merling - DE - Clemson
Minnesota - Desean Jackson - WR - Calfornia
Houston - Reshard Mendenhall - RB - Illionois
Philly - Derrick Harvey - DE - Florida
Tampa - Limas Sweed - WR - Texas
Washington - Calais Campbell - DE - Miami
Dallas - Felix Jones - RB - Arkansas
Pittsburgh - Jeff Otah - OT - Pittsburgh
Tennessee - Malcolm Kelly - WR - Oklahoma
Seattle - Johnathon Stewart - RB - Oregon
Jacksonville - Quentin Groves - DE - Auburn
San Diego - Kenny Phillips - S - Miami
Dallas - Chris Williams - OT - Vanderbilt

Green Bay - Reggie Smith - CB - Oklahoma
New England - CHEATERS
New York Giants - Aqib Talib - CB - Kansas

Miami takes the player with the best fit and long term value to the franchise. Jake Long will provide stability and leadership on the O-Line for the next decade and on...he is the better pick over fan favorite Chris Long. (For those of you who disagree, (simply swap MIA/STL's picks)

2A - James Hardy - WR - Indiana

Miami gets excellent value and a lethal offensive weapon opposite Ted Ginn Jr. , a redzone freak...this 6'7 wideout with 4.5 speed will get a spot on the dolphins roster after nailing his interview - putting to rest his character issues.

2B - Martellus Bennett - TE - A&M

Much like the previous year, Miami drafts offensive heavy in the early rounds and if Bennett is there they snatch him up.

3 - Chilo Rachel - OG - USC

4 - Frank Okam - DT - Texas, or ... Fluellen - DT - FSU

I'd go into detail about all the other teams picks in the 1st round but this has taken me long enough...however, theres a couple I'd like to comment on:

Minnesota - They sought a deep vertical threat in Troy Williamson and he did not pan out...Desean Jackson would provide the type of threat that would enable AP to run WILD. This selection instantly makes Minnesota a top5 offense for years...even with their awful QB's.

Jets/Pats - yes...it sucks, but they're going to get 2 very good players in these picks...unfortunately I think McFadden will fall into the Jets lap..and NE has had DR Cromartie on their radar long before the combine....

Chicago - this is my surprise pick. I think most would assume if Chicago goes O-Line they take Otah...but Albert is so versatile and a absolute freak. His stock will continue to rise and I think he'd be a perfect fit.

Cincy - who would think Glenn Dorsey would fall this far? obviously, me

What do you guys think? :kick:

No way your 4th rd pick is there, and unlikely your 3rd rd pick or 2b is either.

...Is that really you holding that wand? If so, I do not trust your opinion on sports matters at all.

I've seen over 100 Mocks, and many show Curtis Lofton slipping to the 3rd round. He goes early, but still could be available there, easy.

Martellus Bennett could easily be available at 57. If not, Brad Cottam, or Martin Rucker will.

Chilo Rachel is also very realistic. Many mocks have him falling to the 4th-5th round.

Anyways, I tweaked it a bit for the sake of less arguement. I'm more concerned about what people think about my 1st round Mock. Not the Miami picks which everyone will disagree on.
