After deliberation with myself, I've decided that while I would like to have Omon we really need to look at another position at that spot.

Once again we trade Jason Taylor for a 2nd and a 4th.

1. Jake Long OT 6'7" 315lbs. Michigan
He's big, strong and has long arms. He's a road grader in the running game. He has the nasty demeanor you want in your OL i.e. he wants to pile drive his opponent in to the turf. He's a good pass blocker. Is he as good as Orlando Pace coming out of college? Probably not, but we'll have to see how he develops. Michigan has a history of stocking the NFL with good Offensive Linemen. Some may say, why pay a guy that kind of money on the OL? I say why not. Who ever we take with the 1st overall is going to get payed. Be it a QB, DL, LB or CB, they are all going to tie up alot of cap space. Why is it less advantages to have the money spent on the OL as opposed to the Secondary, QB, or Defensive Front Seven. There are alot more options with an OL( moving him to the opposite side or OG) than QB. If the QB doesn't work out, you're basically stuck with the contract because he's not going to play any other position. CBs usually can't move to S. Usually LBs don't move to the DL or Secondary(the only one I can think of is Keith Traylor). DE have been known to stand up and I like what I've seen from Long and Gholston, but can anyone say Mike Mamula. Am not saying that they are going to turn out like him, but you make your conclusions.

2a. Cliff Avril OLB 6'3" 253lbs. Purdue
He's quick with a great burst off the line of scrimmage. He has a non-stop motor and is a perfect fit for a 3-4 scheme.

2b. Curtis Lofton ILB 6'0" 246lbs. Oklahoma
This guy reminds me of Zach. Doesn't have ideal height and isn't as fast as you would like, but makes up for it with his intelligence and tenacity.

2c. Martellus Bennett TE 6'6" 259lbs. Texas A&M
Underutilized at Texas A&M. Entered the NBA draft out of HS, but later withdrew his name. Played on the B-Ball team at A&M. He is probably the best blocking TE in the draft. He has huge mitts and is reliable in the passing game. Will probably be a better pro than a college player.

3. John Greco OG 6"5" 305lbs. Toledo
Technically sound, understands positioning and angles. Tough, strong and durable. Brings great intensity with a non-stop motor.

4a. Antwaun Molden CB 6'1" 198lbs. Eastern Kentucky
Excellent size w/long arms. Able to flip his hips and run w/almost anyone. Has that short term memory you look for w/extreme confidence.

4b. D.J. Hall WR 6'2" 193lbs. Alabama
Soft hands. Catches the ball away from the body. Smooth route runner who knows how to get open. Has a lot of experience against top competition.

6a. Kevin O'Connell QB 6'5" 225lbs. SDSU/Ryan O'Hara QB 6'6" 230 Central Okla.
Both stand tall in the pocket. Both are athletic and run around a 4.6/40. Teams need to be patient with O'Connell because he needs some more development, but has everything you look for physically just needs more polish.
O'Hara, too, has the physical attributes. He has a stronger arm than O'Connell. Transfered from Ariz. because he wasn't on the same page as HC Mike Stoops. His brother had kidney disease and needed a transplant so he decided to sit out a semester to be home w/him. He said that effectively ended his time at UA. Toledo, Michigan, Wyoming and Western Michigan showed an interest when he was transferring. All wanted him to transfer the following fall instead of the mid term because they were afraid he would lose a yr. of eligibility. Well, he wanted to play, so he went to COU. He says that the scouts will find you. Don't know if that was the greatest decision, but he seems to have his head screwed on straight.

6b. Brandon Keith OT 6-5 343lbs. N. Iowa
Excellent size and bulk. Long arms. Amazing athleticism for a man of his size.
Mobile enough to get out in space and stout enough to hold up at the point of attack.

7a. Kroy Biermann OLB 6-3 246lbs. Montana
Winner of the Buck Buchanon Award: Best Defensive Player in Div-II. Great instincts and motor. Has that burst to close while in pursuit. Tough and aggressive.

7b. David Hale OG 6'6" 314lbs. Weber St.
Played at OT, but projects to OG in the NFL. Solid Technician w/good foot work. Effective as both a run and pass blocker. Not flashy, but a solid contributor on the roster as a backup.

i like avril in the 3rd not 2a that is an extreamly coveted pick and prolly be our most important in the whole draft. i like to try to trade that pick, but if not pick whoever falls, groves, mabey, i also like cason and flowers. 2b- i would like loften here, or king out of penn state mabey. but 3 we need a starting gaurd-roy shemb-spelling out of oregon state. 6a. josh johnson instead 7a. vince hall-mlb v tech

I really wonder is Ireland will take a QB period. Nothing against any late round QB, the Phins have so many holes every pick is valuable. Considering Beck, McCown, and Matt Baker already on the roster will Ireland even bother?

I think a late round QB is just as good a bet as any other position.

ya we arent the giants, our late picks rarley work out for us in recent memory, nevermind or early ones lol, while i dont see a qb neccesary i dont see any problem taking one with our 4 picks in rounds 6 and 7, we still have enough picks in each of those rounds to take care of any other positions of sleepers or steals

I have a hard time swallowing not taking a CB in round 2 (especially if we have 3 2nd rounders!)...

i agree totaly but i think we need to get a gaurd with 2b regardless nad if groves falls take him, if not that is where we go cb i like flowers and cason, if they are gone then i would wait till the third

I think we could get DJ Hall later in the draft, and I'd like to see Kellen Davis thrown in there.

if we're going to go with a WR in rd 4 i prefer Paul Hubbard of Wisconsin, but DJ Hall would be my second or third choice.

YOU would have to flop the Lofton Avril picks to be able to do it that way.
I Love the Molden pick but some have him going in the 3rd.
If this trade happens I would go
1 Jake Long OT
2a Brohm QB
2b Nicks OT
2c Godfrey CB
3 Antwaun Molden CB
4 Erin Henderson LB
4b Langford/Bell/Wheeler any will do DE/LB
6a Jerome Simpson WR
6b Frank Okam DT
7a Adarius Bowman WR
7b Gary Barnidge TE

I think that this draft could fill some holes and I think everyone of these players starts except maybe Okam and Bowman

strong but replace avril with groves anyday, way to much of a reach there. Martellus is the **** and there is a chance omon goes undrafted, albeit slim but he is gonna be a diamond in the rough. forget DJ Hall, we don't need a wideout that high, and he is a reach in the fourth.
