OK my computer is dead so had to wait till work to get this review in. Then I forgot my notes, so I'm going from memory. I will add a little more "passion" for lack of a better term then Ozzy, but his stuff is pretty right on!!!

Practice was from 7:30 - 9:30 and there was a ton of people there. according to the security guys it was standing room only. IN fact anytime there was a long ball thrown everyone stood up and it was nearly impossible to see what really happened.

Now for those unfamiliar there is a set of bleachers/seats on one sideline of the field and then there is a second field further away. Generally the Offense practices on the far field and the D on the closer field. So its hard to analyze the offense when they are 50 yards away with all sorts of equipment in the way and crowds around. I sat By the 45 yard line on the north side of the field by the 790am booth. This ended up being the best area to sit as all the down and 2 min drills were run right in front of me.

Usually I take tons of pics but I was there explaining and talking to fans who once the figured out i knew who everyone was kept asking me ?'s and info on pretty much everything. so I have some and I will post them later. oh, Drew rosenhaus and his brother were there watching over there paychecks, although they didn't save anybody.

OK so lets start with the review stuff, but please remember that this means cr@p as it was the second practice of camp.

QB's
- This area scares me the most. Being a "AJ guy" it just doesn't look good. Ferotte is going to start if tomorrow was the first game. AJ and Gus were NOT impressive, i saw plenty of pick6 opportunities by both. Sage is Sage, and i don't think its physically possible for Brock Berlin to hold onto the ball for any longer. The man would be dead, he is NOT going to make the active roster.

Grade = D+ we need help at QB

RB's - This is where i may differ from Ozzy, Ricky Williams is FAST and powerful, especially at 213. He was by far the Best RB on the field today, and it was so good to watch him. IN fact when he first came to the close field he got some boos, until he ran and burned about 4 of our Def players. Even a year out hes still awesome. Welcome back Ricky, you are forgiven(even though you didn't do anything to me) Lamar Gordon, looked good and had some jitters as well nice speed tried to much head throws and stutter steps like Ozzy said. The only other thing to report on is that Kay Jay Harris had a run and carried 5 defensive players about 4-5 yards which was quite impressive. I can't wait to see if brown is anywhere near Ricky or for that matter Gordon.

Grade = B we have good depth and skill

WR's - Now I'm anti David Boston so you won't hear anything good from me aside from the fact he did fight for some balls, threw a monster block or two and caught a long ball against a 3 or 4th stringer. Chambers looked greased up, really his arms were all shiny a couple people were laughing about it. Welker was out there for quite a few receptions as well. All in all there really was nothing special about any of our WR's except the fact that the QB's had a hard time getting them the ball. At least it was just the first day of practice.

Grade = B to early to tell but we have good talent

O-Line - Still the weakest part of our team. Better then last year you ask? Yes, but not good yet. It was however good to see good individual play out of them. I saw Vernon Carey blocking JT pretty damn good, I saw lots of fire out of some of the guys on the right as well. My opinion is that this is the weakest point on our team still with QB coming in second.

Grade = D this is good movement up from the f- they were at.

Defense (line) - The line looks solid, and they consistently make the OLine look bad. I can not rave enough about our additions, especially one Matt Roth. Ozzy mentioned he couldn't tell who it was that got into the fights at practice. It was Roth !! The mans motor was going 110 MPH he practices insanely hard and it was AWESOME to see the passion on the field by Roth and whoever he was fighting!!! JT is JT and the rest of the additions seem to be solid as well. I still think we may need a good DT for depth and the future but all in all looked good.

Grade = B+

LB's - Zach is Zach, overrated my a$$ the guy is good, Crowder was looking good and Seau was coaching today and watching not playing. nothing major to report

Grade = B

Secondary
- Nothing to report we need solid secondary players...I just didn't focus on them I will make it up to you guys on Wednesdays practice

That pretty much wraps it up. I wanted to follow it up by telling a few instances that will make you laugh:

1. Chambers ran a deep route and the ball was thrown WAAAYY long. Someone in the stand yelled out that our QB's SUCCCKK, chambers turned around walked up to the fence and looked the guy square in the face and said " Hey you think you can do better get your @$$ down here " and walked away. It was nice to see him fight for his QB's

1a One of the coaches working with Brock yelled you have to quit sucking. EEEK he better pull his crap together.

2. There was a lot more fans that welcomed Ricky back then booed him I'd say a ration of 3 to 1. The women in my section were going nutso for him

3. I said it earlier and I'll say it again ROTH is a freaking ANIMAL!!!!

4. This was the most fans I've seen at camp in years it was packed. I stopped by and said hello to proshop girl who is the nicest person in the world. Make sure if you go you stop by and tell her your from finheaven!!! she'll treat you guys right!!

5. the practice continue to run with great efficiency which hasn't been seen since Shula in my opinion. the breakdown of how they practice as singles then team then back to singles is great. It seems that they are getting more done with less time/effort so that maybe, just maybe we will be fresh in December!

well thats all for now, will report on more come Wednesday night

I almost forgot the greatest story...

McMichael limped away after a play and looked injured, he was also holding his arm. It looked like he ended up OK, but not before some one yelled out. " I hope you didn't hurt your wife beater hand" which while incredibly hilarious was inappropriate.. but still funny

You may not be a fan of Boston... But you have to admit he was freakin fast last night. He was still huge and could run. Not an extremely impressive performance, but I was very impressed with his speed and size especially after the surgery. You cant say that it wasnt encouraging and that if he stays healthy, he should be awesome for a slot receiver...

Nasty

P.S. - I saw the Chambers incident when he was tellin that guy to get on the field and try himself. It was hilarious...

What's the word on Kevin Carter? I haven't seen him mentioned ANYWHERE about ANYTHING.

Many thanks to you, Ozzy, and Nasty (in other threads) for the updates. Being too far away to go myself, I love what you guys are doing for us.

I love the fact that the coaches are getting in the players face..that's awesome..they can't just sit back and make mistakes and all is well. That maybe what this team needs, someone to challenge them. That's great. Love the Chambers defense of his QB's...but they've got to hit him if they'll that wide open...which brings me to the question of...where's the secondary, this is the first time I've ever heard of the receivers being this wide open this often on the first day, usually our D totally dominates the first week. Not good, since we play alot of throwing teams. Man we go from #2 passing D, to maybe stopping the run and now a questionable secondary. Of course this is the first day mind you and maynot mean a thing...but I liked it when the secondary was making it hard on our wr's, made them better and work that much harder.

Carter looked good out there. He looked bigger than I thought he was. Was comming off the ball with a quick first step. He was causing some havoc to some of our linemen (I think McKinny got smoked by Carter once). He was definatly a great pickup for us...
