I was just thinking about the offseasn we just had. I was wondering if anyone else is upset that we didn't take a good look at picking up Bledsoe or Warner up. I know their old, but I'd pick either one over Ferrotte. Is it me or does our front office have a weird as infatuation with back up QBs. It doesn't take a rocket science to figure out why we suck. Back up QBs are backups for a good reason. Huard, Fiedler, Feeley, Ferrote, even Lucas...did anyone else notice the pattern? They were all lame *** backups! Another thing that get's on my nerves is the backup QB's we've picked up have shown nothing prior to starting for us. If you're gonna start a backup QB at least get a decent one that has done something in this league. Dilfer, hell even Kitna would've been an upgrade over the losers we have playing for us.

The only problem is if we went after those QB's and they played like Frerotte and AJ have played to this point ppl like you would b!itch because we didn't sign Frerotte!

:rofl3::rofl3:
I GUARANTEE you that I would '*****' about signing Ferotte. Once Ferrotte injured his neck celebrating that TD pass, he became an ultimate loser in my book.

Well......... We had Griese who was proven (a former pro bowler) but that didn't exactly work out now did it???? I mean sure he'd be a much better option than what we have right now, and I still wish he was here, but he's not, and they DID pick up a proven starter a couple of years ago

Releasing Griese prooves that our team doesnt know how to evaluate QB's. I'm hoping this alll changes in the Saban Era, but who knows. They did pick up Ferrote:fire:

I'd prefer anyone over Gus.....oh wait....anyone but Feeley....oh wait...damn we have a problem:lol:

Bledsoe has looked OK in the preseason, not good. He would be useless behind our offensive line.

Warner's best years are three years behind him. He has weak hands, is injury-prone, and holds the ball too long.

So let me see if I understand you right....you prefer Gus/Feeley over Bledsoe/Warner? Granted they both arent mobile and would've gotten destroyed by our O-line....but last time I checked Gus/Feeley weren't any more mobile than either bledsoe and warner.

I would.....

Warner and Bledsoe are statues, they would get torched behind our O-line.

You can't compare anything done prior to this offseason to any other...different regime and different philosophy...Bledsoe would die here with our OL and Warner is washed up...There just wasn't much to choose from and he is familiar with Linehan's O...so that was a logical pick...I'm sure the really didn't figure that AJ would play so poorly and not be able to wrest the job from Gus..but that didn't happen...

I undersand the 'logical' choice opinon on why we picked up Gus. But after seeing his weak preseason performance, I think the only 'logical' choice we have is to start Sage. Just my opinion.

Well Feeley actually looked good for a five game stretch in Philly, but I get your point. Maybe the bigger question, though, is why not trade down and get Rodgers in the 1st or take Orton instead of Daniels in the second?

The bottom line is we are going to have to be patient. The most likely scenario would be drafting a qb high next year and Miami may end up with a high enough pick to be in the running for Jacobs or Leinart.
