In one of my last posts (Miami had just gone 0-3,) I tried to remind everyone here that the Dolphins had yet to play a division rival and to stay calm.

Last week, we beat the Bills and were 1-0 in our division. Everyone was a bit more upbeat, but the looming game tempered knowledgeable fans. The New York Jets were coming to town, and they were aiming to gut hook us.

Monday Night Mauling - PREGAME

It was all about the Jets. Ryan, Sanchez, Edwards, Rhodes, their vaunted defense and how it would handle the wildcat. Watching each of the ESPN fools, save for two of them (shout out to Keyshawn!) pick the Jets to win made me want to puke, so I chugged a beer to help calm the growing wave of nausea.

Monday Night Mauling - 1st Half

Miami's opening drive was stellar, but we turned our backs on the Jets and they fake punted us on their opening drive. I told my daughter that Ryan was crazy enough to do it again, and I about lost my lunch when he did later in the half. I wanted to punch Berman's "I-told-ya-so" face at halftime.

Monday Night Mauling - 2nd Half

A great prizefight seems to always boil down to the end of the match, and this game certainly fits that description. The Jets' Sanchez threw pass after pass and all seemed to be miraculously caught by stone-hand Edwards of all people. For Christ's sake, he's only been on the team for a couple of days!!!

But Miami always found a way to fight back and their last drive of the night was one unlike I've never seen before in my life. Three offensive personnel seemlessly moved back and forth into the quarterback position, one of them stone-dead cold, having sat on the bench for the entire game.

AMAZING!!! Miami scores with just 6 seconds left to go on a near perfect drive, effectively mauling New York's toast-of-the-town defense into ity-bitty bread crumbs.

WTG MIAMI!!! I told you guys all it would take is a couple of victories, and Miami has delivered. We're now 2-0 in our division and that is HUGE!!!!

Enjoy your week off. I have a feeling most every game will be like last night's...where we grind it out and surprise!!! WE WIN!
