I don't buy into this too much and think that would be a horrible move for the Chargers, but it does show that maybe the wheels are in motion to get rid of Marty.

One thing that I've heard a couple of people say is that Spanos is reluctant to pay Marty $3 million to fire him, then have to pay another 2-3 million for a new coach.

Maybe if Wayne were willing to pay for the buyout (money is no issue right) this could help the process along.

The problem with WH possibly buying out the contract is this: If we do, in fact, want to hire Marty and tip our hand, then we put ourselves in a position where the San Diego front office (AJ) will drag his feet and start asking for some type of other compensation (draft picks) on top of , maybe, a partial buy out. It may not happen, but it wouldn't surprise me. This scenario would be even more likely if the Chargers are going to hire from within (Cameron) because they wouldn't have to sweat how long it takes.

Why pay for a guy who everyone thinks they want to get rid of? Let them get rid of him and then move in.

They want a coach who can win the big game so they hire mooch?

He has a ring. Actually, the ring was won against SD, wasn't it? Or was it George S still? Brain lock!!

Mooch is a good coach. He will do well with LT & their QB if they get him.

He did a hell of a job turning around the 49'ers like he did.

Agreed, better than any of these retreads we're interviewing now.

why didnt we interview moch or why couldnt we get on the ball and had whisenhunt?

Wonder why we haven't heard anything about the Fins being interested in Mooch? Shouldn't we at least be interviewing him?

I posted a couple of days ago asking why Mooch wasn't getting consideration for any jobs and I got laughed out of town. I think he's a great coach and is going to do a really good job somewhere.
