Im watching Playbook on NFLN and I had not seen this play yet.

They are breaking down the Falcons and talking about how much of a beast Matt Ryan is and they show this play that demonstates just how much of a NATURAL this guy is at QB. In all my years of watching TONS of football every weekend, I have NEVER seen a QB pull this off. Its just brilliant.

Matt Ryan takes a snap and turns to fake a pitch play. You think you have seen some brilliant play action fakes in your life? Nah. Not till you see this. Matt Ryan turns and actually pitches the ball to HIMSELF. He motions as if he is pitching it to the RB who is running hard to the left. The key is he spreads his arms and exposes empty hands to the defense that is behind him. But, he catches the ball himself and rolls a bit to the right as he turns around and completes a beautiful pass. The fake throws everyone off guard.

Im telling you guys this kid is a natural. There have been some great QBs who have had some great play fakes but this is the king of all fakes. Not only does it convince the defense that its a toss play, but just think of how many times in the future they can actually execute the toss to the RB and the defense will have to respect the fact that Ryan could be tossing it to himself again. That extra split second could make the difference in the running back ripping off a huge gain. That fake will freeze defenses like no other fake in history. Now thats taking play action to a whole new level. Matt Ryan is such a beast.

And before anyone suggests but, yea what if he had dropped the ball. Well what if he did? What if he throws a pick? Just let me know when he ever drops the ball on that fake. Until then, pipe down and just admit how brilliant that play fake is. Wait till you see it if you didnt see it the other day.

Damn we really ****ed up not drafting this guy.

He is a beast. They say the NFL is men among men compared to men among boys in college. I agree but Matt came in like he has a couple of seasons under his belt. The very first game, his very first pass looked like a pass from Manning to Harrison 3 years ago. Usually it takes time to get on the same page as your receiver but it took Matt no time. He looks as tho he is in his 3rd year starting to breakout. And there is no doubt in my mind he would have done this anywhere he went. He is an amazing QB and he has a mind like Manning's. He already has the skillz to read defenses and fake them out every down. It's like he came into the league like he was still in college. Like it wasn't any different. And I tried to help you explain to others people on here in the other thread but they just kept makin **** up about pre-season.....Ladies and Gentlemen....Matt Ryan is for real...:hi5:

Okay, I have seen Ryan play a few times this season for Atlanta. I mentioned in a previous thread that in the game against the Bears he played as well as any other QB has this season. Was a great showing from a rookie QB to consistantly convert on 3rd and long against one of the best D's in the league.

BUT you cant get hung up about the fact the Fins did'nt draft him. The FO made their choice and there is not a thing you, me or the man upstairs can do about it. Sure look at all those teams that passed on Dan Marino? I doubt very much they still wallow in despair about not drafting him. Same goes for Tom Brady, 31 teams in the League had numerous chances to draft him and yet he does'nt go till the 6th round.

Sure you can praise Ryan for the great job he's doing at Atlanta because he is doing a great job. But you have to move on from the fact he was'nt drafted by the Fins.

I think we can work out a trade...

I would still rather have Jake Long at LT and Pennington under center with Henne being groomed for the future. Man, we really hit a home run on draft day.

A natural for Atlanta, yes. Relevance to the Dolphins, where is it?

Just curious ... Is it 2 dozen or 3 dozen pairs of knee pads that you've gone through now?

No doubt about it.

Atlanta hit a grand slam...

Division crown and home field advantage bound...
