Monday I posted something saying that Wes Welker was not the answer and the receiving corps stunk and needed to be upgraded. I then got bashed by a bunch of homers that cant look at our personnel objectively, saying that Wes Welker great and blah blah blah.

Heres a quote from the Miami Herald today. Maybe you guys will take it from an "expert."

Offensively: Aside from QB, all three said Miami doesn't have enough at receiver. '' Chris Chambers is nothing special,'' Herock said. And Casserly said the Dolphins have no receiver with the speed that forces teams to adjust their game plan. Though Wes Welker led Miami in catches, Brandt insists ``you need a better No. 3 receiver.''

Uhh, maybe if 1 amd 2 do a better job, 3 will also. Wes has great hands and is great in space. He finds a way to get open, he's quick and smart. Our problem is #1. We need a big time ball hoging playmaker. Chris has no excuse, it doesn't matter who's throwing the ball when you drop passes that hit you in the chest and hands and Chris is the worst in the league at battling for the ball in the air. Marty and Wes had better seasons then Chris that's pathetic.

Wes Welker = Brandon Stokley

Welker = Stokely = Chrebcht...Welker was the biggest playmaker in my opinion on this team, and he is very cheap. He caught nothing but 3rd downs all season and he is one of the scariest kick returners in the league. We should move chambers back to the slot as that is where he makes all his plays...What to do with Welker after that, I dont know...Line him up on the outside in critical plays maybe...But he needs to stay on this team.

i agree i always though the fins needed one more rec. teams double up on chambers, booker can only get open on slants, derek hagan is still raw and drops passes in key situations, wes is good but doesn't scare anyone, we need a faster wr to make teams adjust

Welker was never an ideal 3.

I think people are forgetting that Saban wanted to upgrade the #3 spot last offseason.

Yes and every wide reciever he brought in was beat out by Wes...What does that tell you

It tells me our WRs suck and we have a passing game to prove it. Look at the numbers.

welker was our #3 receiver and led the team in catches doesnt that say enough...wes constantly gets open underneath and is not afraid to go over the middle...personally these experts just look at the stats and dont watch joey harrington check down during his drop back everytime and never look chambers direction unless hes the only one running a route...i'd be fine with the chambers, hagan, welker, and mid rd pick with daunte or cleo at qb

I never said we had a great passing game...Im just saying Wes is one of the best wide recievers on this team. And he did have more yards than eric parker and Matt Jones. Im not saying these two guys are great but eric parker is a starting wide reciever on a playoff team with the best offense in the league and Jnes is a starting reciever on a team that was one game away from the playoffs...For a third wide reciever with our offense ranked 26th, thats pretty impressive

One of the scariest kick returners? Surely you jest! :sidelol:

In 2006 Welker, the #3 receiver, had more receiving yards than Chambers, the #1 receiver. Exactly how does that make the #3 guy the problem here?

Well maybe not one of the scriest but he is by no means bad at all...small and shifty could break one at anytime and he doesnt have any problems seeing the holes when they open

I totally agree with you. Although Walker is an exciting player who has found his niche as a returner, the Dolphins lack an explosive WR who will stretch the field. This is not a knock against Wes...he is not a bad receiver, we just need some Duper/Clayto -like play-makers at WR. ALL of the Fins receivers drop the ball too much. Maybe a change at the the receiver coaching position is also in order...

welker is fine for a 3,hagan needs work, booker getting old ,chambers is just not a 1,we need a 1 reciever ,booker is good for a 2 if hagan can be a 2 with some work, welker can stay at 3,we need to prove marcus vick maybe he can be our kick returner i like welker but we need someone with more speed, allthough welker should be our punt returner since hes got good hands and he is quick.
