It absolutely profounds me! Some people are suggesting that we ought to run the ball more, and that if we run the ball more, we'd win games.

They're the same people who, after the first game of the season, said they were glad we were no longer running the ball as we once did -- because then we become one-dimensional and start losing games.

The fact of the matter is, no matter how effective your running game is, you need the passing game to go along with it. If we run, run, run every play, we're going back to the DW and JJ era. We don't want that, now do we?

So, it's safe to say that the running game is there -- and will always be there. It'll just take time for the passing game to get in sync -- at which times, you'll see more of the running game.

So, one more time -- give it time. This is Saban's first half of the season. I think that bu the end of the year, this team will be on fire.

Yeah, not run every down. I would like to see R Brown get up around 15-20 carries consistanly.

We don't need to run every play, but the offense needs balance and right now there isn't any. We have thrown the ball much more than we have ran it and when you have an emerging RB and an inaccurate QB thats not a good idea.

Who are those people?

all we are saying is when you look at the Colts for ex. they always have James get 15-25 carries a game and lately Brown has only been getting under 10 carries, what we need to do is run the ball 20 times and pass the ball 25-30 times. That is a balanced attack

I think the problem is we just can't run the ball.

No, your problem is you have not watched any games except maybe the Tampa one.

actually the Colts have been running more then passing lately but they still have a very balanced attack

We can run the ball but we get behind quickly which forces us to pass. Indy's in a different situation. Their D is holding the opponents which allows Indy to manage the clock in their favor. When we actually start to build and keep a reasonable lead, we can run the ball more and stop relying on the errant arm of Frerotte.

with the personnel we have now, i'd rather run every play then pass every play. that being said, we need to mix it up and be somewhat close to being balanced, although favoring the run more. 14 times a game rushing is absurd

I think on of the main reasons for our lack of carries in games we have lost is because in every single game we have lost this year we have allowed a score on the opening drive but even that shouldn't change the gameplan. One score behind is not reason enough to get out of the gameplan, this weekend since the Saints suck against the run we should run the ball 15 times with Brown and 5-10 times with Williams. That way we can have a balanced attack while passing 25 times.

I don't think that Linehan liked to run much when he was in Minnesota and I don't think he ever got behind by much in alot of games so he might be getting away from the gameplan when down by a couple scores early

We need to be getting Ronnie and Ricky about 10 carries a game. We need to be getting them more touches by passing to them.
