Not sure if anyone else heard that Dan Morgan is looking to make a return to the NFL after a short lived retirement...His agent Drew Rosenhaus said that Morgan has asked the league to reinstate him in order to sign a contract with the New Orleans Saints...

Maybe our top notch FO can manuever him away from the Saints and get him in the middle in aqua and orange...

Anyone think that the former UM standout LB would be welcome in South Fla?...He says that he hasn't felt this good since his rookie year...

Your thoughts or concerns...

Go Phins!

He's too much of an injury risk. He probably should have stayed retired. One more concussion and he's done.

Trent Green-redux.

His history of concussions is a concern for me also, but if he says that he is healthy, only he can make that call...

Just like any other limitation (ie. age, suspension risk, level of playmaking ability, etc.), our FO should protect both us and him through the structure of the contract...

It could be similar to a Ricky Williams contract situation...you set it up so that he hits incentive bonuses for consecutive starts or games played with a set snap count...This would insure that we only pay (huge $ figures), if he plays!

It's just a thought that would make since if the guy is seriously considering making a return, he was a legit force for the Carolina defense when he was on the field, but injuries cut his bright career short...which is your concern and I understand your point honestly...

I just think that for the right deal he could be a major upgrade in the middle of our defense and could be used to help groom an incoming rookie that should also be drafted this year.

Plus I would really like him as an added bonus to the only "Big Name" FA aquisition worth the hoopla in Mr. Peppers...Julius has serious interest in playing OLB for the Phins and maybe his addition will bring Dan along for the ride as well...(also doesn't hurt that Peppers is only 29 yrs. old).

Another option would be to lure Bobby Carpenter away from Mr. Jones in Dallas somehow, maybe a straight up trade for Beck...

Beck has similar skill sets to Romo and Dallas obviously needs a backup as they crumbled when Romo went down...

I like Morgan's talent but Parcells puts a premium on tough guys who stay healthy and play. I'm not sure Morgan fits that model.

Peppers onl y one worth the Hoopla. HAve you ever heard Of ALBERT HAYNESWORTH, or Nnamdi Asomugha. The Albert Haynesworth. The best DT in the game and best D player in football. He will be the highest paid D player when he signs and he deseves it. I would rather try and sign Jon Vilma and leave Morgan alone. MOrgan was good though.

Captain Concussion should stay at home and not risk his life for football.

Pass! Gimme Dansby and Suggs in the off season... That'd be a dream come true.

Morgan's history of concussions are a big turn off. There use to be a running joke in NC about how many injuries would occur if Morgan and T.A. McLendon ever ran into each other. haha. Seriously, I think he is done with football, I heard he is opening a restaurant/bar in Charlotte within the next year.

He just has had too many concussions in his career. If they let Zack go b/c of injury, there's no sense in bring Morgan on.

I agree. If Morgan is healthy, offer him an incentive-laden contract. If he can stay healthy, I think he can still be a solid ILB in this league.

I agree. If they let Zach go because of concussion concerns, I'm not so sure they bring Morgan in, for his injury issues are also concussion related. You never know though.

there was also the one that went something like this:
"dan morgan is one of the best linebackers in the league, for the first quarter of the first game of the season"
