I'm always interested to see how former Fins players do when they leave and go to another team. And I admit I never followed Morlon's career all that closely during his time in Miami but it always seemed to me that he was pretty average to sub par. Now that he's spent a couple years in Houston he garners respect as one of the better OLBs in the league. So I guess my question is, what happened? Did he all of a sudden get a lot better or is he just sort of being overrated? Or am I wrong and he was actually pretty good while he was here?

I always thought he was decent, he started many games for us but in his tenure here he always had bigger named stars, and guys who made more plays more often.

Think about it he played with zach thomas, jason taylor & the rest of our solid d line, Seau, madison etc etc. Barely ever heard his named called , which isn't always a bad thing its not like we remember him for being a glaring hole in our defense(like jamar fletcher will always be remembered for).

He finally started making plays when he got to Houston. He produced zero turnovers during his four seasons in Miami, but got two fumble recoveries in 2005 and three recoveries and an interception last year. His tackle totals are about the same as he had in his last season here.

or reggie Howard

he might not of been right for the dolphins Defence

Sort of. He was always the strongside linebacker, the first one taken off the field and responsible for a fair amount of of coverage duty and dealing with the TE on running plays.

he is not considered one of the best outside linebackers in the league,,

He was an average linebacker here in Miami, he is now an above average one in Houston. I have never heard anyone consider him one of the top OLB's in the game. I think the main difference was that he went from being on a really good D, to a pretty bad defense. Houston's defense is practically incapable of stopping drives, leaving him on the field more often, giving him more chances to boost his stats. Also, the fact that he doesn't have to line up next to Zach Thomas definitely helps his tackle numbers.

I always liked his play, but it was solid and dependable and I think the move to Houston was good for both Houston and Miami.

Miami benefitted because to keep Morlon they'd need to pay a lot more money than his production warranted because ZT and JT were making all the plays. Houston benefitted because he upgraded their defence.

So basically he did what Crowder is doing now, he just made tackles. So does that mean that when Crowders contract expires he will be history to?

One of the "better" OLB's in the league? That's news to me.
He is an average NFL starter at the OLB position, which is exactly what he was here.

he was always average for us and the texans...so i would say he is overrated

Crowder is in a little bit better position to make tackles than Greenwood, and I think he does a little bit better job at making plays than he did when he was here but I dont think there is a dramatic difference between the two.

Didn't Crowder have 105 tackles last year, I can't ever remember Greenwood getting that many when he was here. Or am I wrong?
