Mormino...what is he thinking?

he hasn't held out yet... and it could be many number of things thats holding it up, it'll happen, relax... most teams haven't signed as many picks as we have yet, we're doing fine...
 
Ever stop to think that he agreed on a deal like Satele and isn't going to sign it until Sunday? Satele's agent is talking about the deal(though it isn't officially signed yet), while Mormino's agent may be waiting until it is in ink before boasting. Mormino is not holding out, and there shouldn't be any concern that he won't be in on time.
 
Let's not forget he is already competing for a starting job. I'm sure there are many incentives being negotiated.

While he might be 6th pick, most 6th picks never have the possibility of seeing the field this soon. So, they are more worried about fighting for a roster spot and making the team as opposed to having a legit shot to start day one.
 
I read somewhere that they have the same agent. I know it was on FH, just can't remember the thread.
 
Heh. This is exactly what I was thinking when I saw his name with Beck and Ginn on the front page article.
 
training camp hasn't started yet.....so what exactly is it that you think he is holding out from?

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he the player who's agent was on his honeymoon around the time when all the other lower round picks were signing? That I believe is the main reason that he is still unsigned.

Excuse my wording in my first post. What I meant was, it seems kind of weird that our first, second, and sixth round picks are still unsigned. It gets this close to camp, and I guess I start thinking the worst, but given our rookie signing history (Overstreet, Sammie Smith, Brown, Allen to name a few) could anyone blame me for getting skittish?
 
I hate using the term "holding out" to begin with because you're not holding out if you're not under contract.

But even as far as the common mis-use of the term "holding out" goes, using that here in Mormino's case is even more egregious because training camp hasn't even started yet.
 
He must have been reading these forums and has, therefore, over-valued himself!

True, but most teams didnt have as many picks as we have either:tongue:

No but you're right, it'll get done.
 
I was just thinking the same exact thing when I read that Satelle had been signed. Usually the later picks get signed first. Why is a 2nd rounder getting signed before a 6th rounder? Mormino should have been signed weeks ago. Could there be some type of hidden agenda here? Is he not going to make the team? Does he think he is worth more than he is worth? I'm not too worried but just curious as to why the heck this guy hasnt signed yet. We better get these signings done soon because there is only about a week or so till TC starts and we need everyone there this year and NO HOLD OUTS!
