The most underrated draft pick from our haul this year is Leonte Carroo from Rutgers. When Miami lost Rishard Matthews in free agency, they were basically one injury away from having a very pedestrian receiving corps.

With Carroo's addition, as well as the addition of Jakeem Grant, Miami not only has more skill in the receiving corps, but insurance if Landry or Parker get injured. Not saying Carroo equals either DVP or Landry's production, but it gives wiggle room in case of an injury and also gives a better third option than Stills.

I fully expect Carroo to be Miami's second boundary receiver over Stills, with Landry sticking to the slot where he can get free in space.

Hope so. We gave up a hell of a lot to get him

Personally, I expect Stills to have a very good year.

I am gonna go with the Penn State DB, Jordan Lucas. Nobody is talking about this kid, yet he is an incredible athlete and fits the Vance Joseph mold to a T. Team captain that should make this team on special teams alone but could develop over time to a solid depth option at CB and maybe more.

I think Carroo will supplant Stills early in the season. But I'm still not a fan of how he was obtained.

If one of the newbies can return a kickoff past the 9 yard line, they have my vote.

I am going with long shot QB Doughty. He has a great arm. Hopefully he can push RT in few years.
Having real competition at the QB position is very good thing.
I think RT is our starter now and in the future, but developing a QB for another team will pay dividends later.

I'm cautious on Lucas. I like his athleticism. Most of the clips I could find on him, he was playing in the middle of the field. He was not a great tackler and his hips weren't great as he could get get juked. But, we are reportedly going to put him on the boundary and try to use his strength in man press. Perhaps he was mis-cast as a Nittany Lion? I didn't see him in the role where we could use him.

I saw PSU play, and he wasn't very memorable as I had to look him up. Their DL was where the attention was on D.

I'm in the Ron Wolf camp that you draft a quarterback somewhere every year. The value of a QB, if he hits, is so disproportionate to anything else on the field, that, if you hit on one, you have a major asset one way or another. Look at how the Pack had Favre and still drafted Hasselback and Aaron Brooks in the later rounds. Or how the Falcons took Schaub when they had Vick. The point is you can liquidate the good ones.

One thing the Dolphins have not been doing over the years is drafting quarterbacks. I'd like that to change. If it is not Doughty, you keep taking cracks at it, and someone will pop in future years and be a viable asset.

Agreed. His corner stuff isn't all that easy to find but I'm impressed. Active feet, good quickness, aggression. The workout numbers speak for themselves. Also he's intelligent and was a team leader. He moved to safety to help the young players on his team get aligned properly, even though it clearly hurt his draft stock. You can see him at corner trying to redirect safeties presnap who are apparently clueless (and then the safety still screws up). The negatives are that he doesn't have the best ball skills and can be pushed around by bigger receivers (our own Tony Lippett abused him for a goal line touchdown in a critical part of the PSU/MSU game).

It's easy to fall in love with Jakeem Grant but this was the most impressive pick to me (outside having Tunsil land in our laps, obviously).

Don't get me wrong, we are talking a 6th round pick here. I just look at the board and see people buzzing over the offensive pickups and he seems to be slipping through the cracks. He certainly fits the "underrated" title more than the rest of the picks . . . but I also see a guy with a lot of traits that could make him a success for this football team.

How much of Stills' 'struggles' just have to do with the fact that he was a 3rd option on so many plays where RT17 didn't even have time to look for a 2nd option?

I really like the Jakeem Grant pick... Just having that blazing speed can pick us up cheap yards on a kick return and I hope to God he gets a minimum of 5 touches a game on offense. Get this guy in space and once again, cheap yardage.

My worry? Once the first tackler has him wrapped up, can he successfully fight for the ball when the 2nd tackler tries to strip him?

I'll go with the TE from UCLA. Fluid route runner with great hands. Looks like a better version of Charles Clay.

i'll go with kenyan drake.

i've seen it stated many times around the net that his ceiling is charles sims.

i disagree and think he has a higher ceiling than sims.

and sims went for 107 carries for 529 yards (long of 59), and 51 catches for 561 yards (long of 56) and 4 TDs last year.
