Could be the home run in free agency. Sign him to a 2 yr 6 million deal all guaranteed. The kids stats 284 rushes 1610 yds 11 tds. He has also caught 36 balls for 361 , The injury killed him this past yr. As a running back for the 49ers this guy is averaging 5.9 yds per carry

Give me Spiller or another high end rookie in the draft. It’s been too long since we’ve spent a high pick on a RB. It’s time to splurge a bit.
It's time to do so. As a proponent of Williams, Etienne, Harris, etc in the past two drafts, I really feel we are overdue on this position. After watching Taylor's year this year it's just like ripping fingernails out...

Good thing we have a running coach to make his selection with a need for it.

Bro that dude got all his yards in a couple games then nothing. Our current rbs are better than him. Besides we need to spend a high pick and finally go get us one. Enough of these re threads

I have faith that McDaniel will be able to build a running game. He brought in a lot of coaches with OL/TE experience and they all know how to implement the Shanahan system. I don't know how our passing game will work, but I'll be shocked if Tua doesn't have a solid running game to lower the focus on his passing skills. Honestly, if the defense can play at or near the levels of last year, I expect to make the playoffs. This could be one of the smoother rebuilds we've had.

Although, every coach purges the roster, so expect a lot of turnover this offseason.

I doubt McD goes high for an RB. He has made it work with mid-level guys for years. As long as they draft one somewhere after the 1st round, I'm good.

I agree, and we should all be excited as RBs under McDaniel has faired pretty well in San Francisco. Something weve been missing for years. Just hope we can build the OL quick enough to open up those holes.

He did suffer a significant knee injury, so I don’t think he will be commanding a significant contract. I wouldn’t be against us signing him to a team friendly deal to see if he can play a part time role, which is how the 49ers have used a combination of backs in their running game until Mitchell emerged as a bell cow for them this season. That said, there are probably other options for us to add to our running game rather than a near 30 year old coming off a significant knee injury.
