Since Mueller likes to draft a lot of qbs, do you think if Quinn doesnt come out that he would consider drafting Cutler this year and go after Quinn the next?

Well look if we finish top 3 We can get Leinart so that cancels all

I think he will draft a qb this year and then see how that player develops. Way to early to say if we would go after quinn next year although I would like to have him.

Assuming we dont.. at one time didnt Mueller have Brooks Bulger and one more currently starting QB all in NO at the same time?

He had Bulger, Brooks, Blake, and Delhomme.

Pretty good considering where they were all drafted...

By the way I would not be surprised if Brooks is brought to compete he for a 1-2 year starting job. If you listen to Saints fans he's a victim of circumstances. Usually the best way to understand a player is a fan's perspective...

Yes but I dont beleive any of them were high picks. Mueller traded with GB to get Brooks (I think a 3rd round pick) Jake Delhome (undrafted?) was a qb that he inherited from the previous gm and Bulger was drafted in the 6th round.

yeah, Brooks was a 4th rounder by GB in 99, traded for a 3rd in 2K

We can, but we have to make plans in case Leinart doesn't fall to us or we aren't able to trade up for him. I'm guessing Saban is using Mueller as a Qb/First round talent evaluator because Mueller's picks in the lower rounds are terrible while Saban manages to draft well in those rounds.

that remains to be seen as well. Daniels is starting because of Reggie, not necessarily because he's a great corner.

Alabi has not even seen the field yet, and now may be done for the season.

Vickerson also had behavioral problems before he went down as well.

They may pan out, they may not, but to this point, you certainly can't say that any of those guys are better than who Randy drafted.

I can see us passing up drafting Jay Cutler too high and possible drafting Josh Betts in the 4th round this year (great developmental QB, at worst our backup in a couple years).

True, but Mueller has a history of drafting guys who don't pan out from 3rd round and down. We at least got Crowder there and Daniels is at least decent. There's another thread that has all of Mueller's previous picks, and ratio-wise it doesn't look as good as it has here (pre and post Saban).
