Mueller Needs an Extension!

Absolutely, bro. How can you give Cameron a 4yr contract and only a one year extension to Mule ? They are a team.

Its no wonder he is getting other offeres .

Weren't there reports that Mueller handled himself horribly during the Saban administration? He was justifiably upset at the garbage he had to put up with, but was a completely unprofessional jerk in dealing with it all, and a lot of people surmised he'd be fired for his conduct. Perhaps that's the reason for the garbage extension.

how about the team sees how he does as a GM for one year before giving him the money?

They didn't give Randy a one year extension. He had one year remaining on his original deal from the Saban era. He needs an extension to stay, otherwise he is headed to Tennessee.

see how he does in the upcoming draft before giving him an extention if he does'nt do that great then you go after tuna in 2008 for GM!

Hopefully he will stay this year so we can see what he does in the draft, then decide on an extension.

They'll probably give him an extention after the draft maybe.
Lets see how he works with Cam first.

You may lose him before the draft even takes place!

It would make for a horrendous worst case scenario, particularly with him orchestrating our scouting and draft.
I think Wayne however, is confident that Randy would contact him before signing anything with Tennessee, an opportunistic circumstance, that would essentially garner Mueller a raise, without having to ask for one, if it plays out to that extent.
Mueller's remarks to the press were carefully worded, leaving the initiative entirely on Tennessee to pursue. Wayne appears patient to let things lie, considering Mueller is afterall, still under contract.

Although he may be assuming more duties than he previously had under Saban to earn his pay, my guess is that Huizenga believes Randy the integrity, to honorably perform them, without weaseling out to chase down better offers...
at least for now.

and they'll determine how successful the draft was after one year? and then offer the extention? it takes several years to determine a draft successful or failure.

some of you act like mueller is a some spring chicken who has had no expereince as a GM. the guy is proven, get him locked in before someone else does.
