"In Mularkey's first two of three seasons as the Pittsburgh Steelers' offsensive coordinator, the Steelers ranked third and fifth in the NFL in offense, and quarterbacks Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox enjoyed the best seasons of their careers."

I am extremely happy with the signing i didnt realize, Pitt was ranked that high, and with maddox an kordell...which arent good qb`s...

But their passing game wasnt that great in Pitt, they were running machines, something I dont really want here. I would like to see us open the offense up in the air

i think one of the problems with the fins in the beginnig of the season, was we didnt run the ball enough....until we started establishing the running game with ricky and ronnie... and then we went on the winning streak.....

but if we win the game, it just doesn't matter how we did..does it...

In 2002, the Steelers ranked 8th in passing yards, and 8th in TD passes. This was in addition to being a strong running team.

My guess is an OC doesn't dictate how the offense is run as much as everyone seems to think, I agree he has a ton of say and suggestions, but I betcha the HC - Saban in this case - has the final say in it and the OC calls and develops the plays to fit Saban's plans.

I could very well be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised by this.

Well, Mularkey definitely doesn't run an Andy Reid style offense if that's what you mean by opening the offense up through the air. But he does like to throw the ball down the field. He uses the run to set up the pass, which is good for our team considering the players we have.

Remeber Saban runs the defense basically. I think he was looking for a very experienced guy who he could basicaly give the reins of the offense over to, thats why he was so keen on getting him.

Yeah MM likes the run, but we have Ricky and Ronnie, this guy should be in FINHEAVEN!

Why are people scared for us to run the ball? Our team favors us to run the ball instead of passing...

Ya I don't quite understand that. We'll do both it's obvious. When you have two capable pro bowl RBs and a TE, plus a Pro Bowl WR you'll do it all. If we sign Owens uh.....
