I understand that Mike Mularkey was not very much short of a failure as our offensive coordinator, however I'm not so sure that he is incapable of becoming a good head coach. Mularkey led a Bills team that was mired in mediocrity a couple of years ago on a very nice winning streak to end the season and everyone in the media seemed to crown him as the next great NFL coach. All of a sudden Mularkey had a falling out with the organization and abruptly left the team in a strange turn of events. There have been several instances recently in the NFL where coaches don't get it done as a coordinator but succeed as a head coach and the other way around. These things aren't written in stone, and I don't think that Mularkey should be written off as our next head coach simply because he couldn't put up big offensive numbers with our injury tattered and inconsistent offense. I mean think about it, the awful offensive line play through the first half of the season, Culpepper's still shredded knee, Joey's woes as the starter, Chambers vanishing for games at a time, and an overall incredibly inconsistent offensive football team. I don't think that Mularkey can possibly be blamed for our offensive ineptitude and he at the very least deserves a shot at running this team. Maybe if we get a real quarterback, #1 reciever, and left tackle things will be a little bit different for our offense... I say why not give Mularkey a shot? It's not like this team has much left to lose.
