I know there is alot being said about pulling Henne out and putting in Pat White for some plays..

I just wanted to come up with a list of Pro and Cons for this.. and wanted to hear some thoughts on it..


Pros-
*Different skill sets for each qb..we are just not playing which guy do we want these 2 qbs are different all around...

*One is Big and Strong, the other is agile and quick..

*Chad is right handed, Pat is Left handed..

*One played in a pro style offense in college..The other a spread option..
This can keep the defenses in the league off balance...not knowing which Qb they are going to face..

*Lets Henne get off the field and talk to coaches.

Cons-
* Every time Pat or Chad is the game they will want to make the best of their time in the game...( Example - Chad has not really made any stupid throws only thing he has done wrong was try and take a Time out..could have been a cause of not being in the game orginally in Patriots game)...
(Example for Pat... Pat was taking a snap out of the gun, Phins pull Jake Long and Smily to the Right side.. Ricky next to Pat. Option read..Pat keeps hand off and goes no where.. if he handed ball to Ricky Big gain..) We ended up scoring a Td on the drive anyhow but just pointing it out)

*Rhythm, Taking Henne out the pass qb can take away his confiendence with his Wr... I have not seen much of this. Henne has been solid

* Offenseive Line, Putting Pat White in the game can put pressure on the O line as the D- fense can Key on a run... The one time Pat passed in the Pats game they went Play action... They got right in on him beacuse of missed block..Go figure they did not fall for the run..

* Controversy, Having these 2 qbs could create this... If Pat starts playing real well even when passing( Dont see it this season) who do we keep? Who is going to get more snaps?.( For one,am not afraid of this. I think Chad is here to stay, they have been calling plays for Pat white and he has been succesful and Henne has been as well)


Again I like what they are doing so far.. I would like to see them the phins run the ball more out of the base defense. And I would like to see Pat pass more..

Playing muscial qb's has been done in the past with little sucess tho..

Beside Gators- With Tebow and Leak. Can not really think of another winning team..

What bothers me is this far into the season and none of us know if we could effectively line up and be relatively consistant running the ball from a regular formation. The WC is great, but when teams stop it, we go right to the air....OUR BIGGEST WEAKNESS....just line up and run the damn ball.

IMO we can hope that PW will eventually be a decent backup QB. That's about it. Im so sick of seeing the team get something going, then here comes PW to **** it up.

Yes he had a good draw and option pitch....but it takes 10 useless plays to get 1 good one.

Yes he had a good draw and option pitch....but it takes 10 useless plays to get 1 good one.

I agree we have quit on the run way too fast...

The last game tho. Wilfork was lined up against Long almost the whole game..

I dont think we were ready for it.. They were calling too many perminter plays to the left side and Ronnie could not get going...

And when the best run stuffer is lined up outside....ram it down their throat up the middle....Im in the Army, not a paid OC, maybe there is something I'm missing, but it seems rediculous that we cannot run the ball with the backs we have and roadgraders up front. Our inability to make adjustments, both offensively and defensively is mind numbing!

One of the plays we actullay lined up Carey next to Long on the Left side...

Long and Smiley double team Wilfork.. Get a great block on him..

Carey wiffs on Banta Cain...loss of yardage for Ricky...

So they tried once in that game that I know of...

But i agree..I dont know why they were not running iso's or maybe even some sweeps to the opposite side of Wilfork..

They had to have known that he was eating up Jake Long

I like what they are doing with Pat as well.. I would just like to see them Line up and in base and run the ball well...

I think I've seen 3 positive plays come from PW being in there....everything else was done OVERCOMING PW's wasted plays.

He had like 5 good plays from last week alone...

The Jets game he had a decent play but other than that it has been snuffed out..

But really I wonder how many plays he has actually been in there for.

5? There was the draw play and the option play...everything else was either an incomplete pass or a run between the tackles for a yard or 2.

I know he had 3 in the Pats game at least

2 good option plays..

Then he ran a fake jet motion play...that got like 6

So yea maybe 3... I know he had one positve play against the Jets, Maybe 2

Henne shouldn't be burdened with 4-9 extra 3rd down & longs every game where he wasn't given 3 chances to gain those 10 yards. His stats are going to look horrible, no matter how good he plays.

The other issue is more about the whole 'wildcat' thing. All the practice time and game time that we spend running 3 different offensive sets, is the same time that other teams are focusing 100% of the time on normal, pro, passing & running offenses.

We are basically practicing MUCH less time on our base offense, which isn't exactly stellar to begin with. The base offense is still what we function out of most of the time.

Largely in part of Henne overcoming White's negative or minimal yardage. I am not going to say that White has not had positive plays, but when you remove Henne on 1st and ten in the 2 minute drill of the first half, insert Pat White who loses two yards then bring Henne with 3d and 12 equals drive killer. He is overused and at the wrong times.
