Don't believe everything you read. Don't believe this blog, the websites, the pundits or so-called insiders on ESPN, NFL Network or other networks, either. Take it all in with a grain of salt when it comes to this Dolphins coaching search.

Good to see Armando Salguero has caught up to what I have been saying for weeks on twitter that someone is feeding false info to the National Media. LaCanfora has been way off on the Dolphins since last year. Glazer went back and forth with the Fisher Coaching Search. You got Silver saying Fins were going to sign Fisher. NFL Network & PFT saying Fins want Zimmer. Casserly saying Fins to interview McCoy. I was told by people in the know Nolan contract was up, these were reporters for well known papers. Now, Armando is saying those reports could be false. The Herald, Sentinel & Post have been dormant through out this search. Something has to be up behind close walls in Dolphins land and Im starting to think they are doing it on purpose cause of bloggers who claim to have sources and don't have crap.
 
A purposeful conspiracy to feed false information into every level of sports media? Meh. I think sports journalism is just broken. It collapsed under the weight of social media and the many different outlets available now. It's not just the Dolphins coaching search that's been wildly offbase. It happens all the time now. One false story is immediately picked up in a mad rush without verification. It's filtered and mutated through countless different sources. The "journalists" are incompetent and the competition from the glut of media sources forces these incompetents to fire randomly in every direction. The competition and need to break a story or offer insight when you have none puts these reporters in a desperate situation. When everyone's doing it it's hard not to succumb to peer pressure. Baseball had its steroids era. Sports journalism is in the midst of its bull**** era.
 
Just last year I was told by someone who I trust and had never fed me false info Sparano had been cleaing his office & was set to be fired. Obviously, it was a lie and I don't know if this was what was told them or if they did it to make me look bad. But it was something that they had a strong conviction in and till this day that person it was fed to them. Since that day I have known the Dolphins are feeding false info to reporters probably on purpose. During this last offseason I saw a good reporter in Jason LaCanfora miss on Cowher to Dolphins, Bradshaw to Dolphins, Orton to Dolphins etc. Time and time again I saw LaCanfora miss this past offseason. Now this offseason we are witnessing not just with him but others, Lombardi had Fisher close to signing with Miami. Schefter & Clayton had him leaning 80-20 & what do we find out after Fisher signs, that since thursday Rams Owner knew Fish was headed to St.Louis. So Im personally very happy that a local reporter who is working daily with the Miami Dolphins notice a trend that I have been picking up on since last year. The Dolphins are purposely feeding the media false info.
 
Welcome to 2008 8480, ever since Bill took over the team i've told people this is what he does, and as long as Jeff is still here and we have a owner that has to do spin control a few times a year because he's a nitwit it's not going to end anytime soon.

This is what Bill Parcells does and it's what people who worked for him do as well..............the only leaks that came out when Bill Parcells was here was because he leaked it and Jeff and the nitwit owner are the same way.

It's kind of hard to believe your just now catching on to all of this.
 
Sounds like sour grapes to me. I personally don't care if they are leaking out false information, as long as this team gets better. I could not care any less if a reporter breaks a story. I think that's why the media is so Anti-Ireland. He doesn't give them anything so they hate his guts and write articles like this one saying how incompetent the team is so the fans turn on the him. And it works!

But Salguero writes that we haven't interviewed a coach from the top 4 teams and thats "amazing". Really? Now they get bashed for that? Never mind Toub is a very highly regarded ST coach who others think would make a great head coach. Or that Zimmer is the DC for a team of nobodies and their defense is top ten in every catergory. Or Philbin is the OC of a team that went 15-1 this year and won the Super Bowl last year. Or that they went hard after the current coach of the 49ers (and were criticized for it). No! They suck because they haven't interviewed anyone from the Pats, Ravaens, Giants or 49ers so they are idiots.

It's "reporting" like this that makes me abhor the local media in South Florida. I just want this whole thing to be over so we don't have to read anymore crap like this.

I will post **** that he has that shows insight in the team, but I do not care for his assessments.

He's a columnist, not a reporter. All his articles are "assessments."

Surprisingly enough, the one person who kept his mouth shut, and stayed fairly even keel was Omar.
 
The truth is all the candidates the Dolphins have so far interviewed either didn't make the playoffs or got bounced from the playoffs by teams and coaches staff that apparently did better work.

and how many times have i asked in the last week WHY there are all these calls for mike zimmer? where is the "mike zimmer defense"? anyone even know what it is other than "he prefers the 4-3? big woop? he got trounced in the bungles playoff game. wheres the superbowles? oh yeah, he is a former cowboy who worked with ireland. where have we seen this before? move along...............


But I doubt the Dolphins are so dumb as to allow Nolan to cruise on down the road without them first knowing which direction they're going. So as to the reports Nolan is on the radar in New Orleans and could be hired soon

doubt their that dumb? really? isnt this a piece on how dumb the dolphins are? the owner whos first major move was to go after a coach before firing the other alienating most of his peers in the nfl? then gave the coach he SHOULD have fired no matter what more money and more years? DUMB!!! didnt he keep the gm pretty much NO ONE wants to work UNDER, the one who asks if players moms were crack whores? DUMB!!! having MAJOR 0-line concerns and then bringing in the WORST rt in all of football, and giving him the starting job SIGHT UNSEEN? DUMB!!!! and they have NO idea what direction their going other than jeff ireland is now the king supreme of all things miami dolphin.

you point out the fact that of all the teams left for that superbowl spot, not ONE COACH is on miami's radar from those teams. DUMB!!!!!!!


i think TODD BOWLES is the lacky ireland wants in the coaching chair. the guy who is NO threat to his limited football knowledge and fragile ego. MAKE NO MISTAKE! this coaching "search" is all about who ireland can stomach, not who the most talented coach is. ireland is a supreme egomaniac, a huckster, a shady used car salesman who has a clueless owner dancing to his tune. he now has COMPLETE control over the miami dolphins, i mean the miami irelands. he picks all players, runs the draft, hires and fires all coaches, all front office personell after having a HUGE part in a 4 year plan that failed MISERABLY for 3 of those years. THATS amazing!

todd bowles. a guy who has done NOTHING as far as coaching but lead the weekest part of our defense. he has been socially shuffled along because somehow he became "one of parcells guys" and bill is loyal to a fault with "his guys". and the cowboy possee semms to be sticking like glue together wherever they are.

bowles got his rooney rule tour of the raiders but other than that, he isnt even lined up anywhere for as much as a ball boy gig for other teams. because....... HE HAS DONE NOTHING OF INTEREST IN THE NFL! thats a fact.

billionaires DO care about color. and that color is GREEN!! as in cash. and ross has a half [if not more] empty stadium, you cant give away dolphin merchandise and thats if you can even find it in sports stores anymore. you have dig way behind the lyons gear to see if there is any. and now he is going to top it off by bringing in a nobody like todd bowles as H/C? DUMB!

what would bowles do for a staff? nolan isnt going to work under his lacky. you can bet he will replace the offensive staff with friends. all the people he could get in here to work for him and ireland would be guys like him, guys who have never gotten anywhere special on the teams staffs they have been part of.

so, you think the finz brass isnt DUMB? losing nolan is a walk in the park for these guys and all this shows just how much ross has been bamboozled by jeff ireland, another one of "parcells guys" who like tony sparano and todd bowles deserved NOTHING they were HANDED by bill parcells.

could i be wrong about bowles being the guy all along or the fisher fall back plan? sure. but with all this "i really prefer young, hungry coaches" speak ross has been tossing around since the big fish-er got away is some what telling. i still say its a soft shoe performance to soften the blow of anouncing someone like bowles as head coach. the guys on the list like zimmer and philbin and mcoy are NOT "young". bowles is VERY young by nfl standards.

were in trouble folks...... BIG trouble. the only real hope we have at this point is with all the power and control ireland has, if it all goes to poop this year, he will have NO ONE to blame and MAYBE ross will see the light and FINALLY do what he should have done this year.... FIRE HIS ARSE!!!!!
 
The media is no longer the media any more. They are nothing more than press agents. No one does any real journalism these days. I'm kinda shocked this would be news to anyone.

FINATIC8420: teams have a SUPER TIGHT gag order on the inside workings. all of these employees have clauses, STRICT clauses in their contracts about keeping their mouth shut!

as i have said over and over here, if some "insider" gives info to to anyone associated with ANY media outlet its because they want that info out! usualy as a misdirection. and all these teams brass and underlings and players know who these media, bloggers and sport board heros are. and if something DOES get out, team brass know who all was in the meetings, who actually knew and then its just back tracking, we know you are friends with [place media, blogger, sports board hero here] and you were one of three people in that meeting....., and you were seen having drinks with him 2 nights ago at TGIF......., get the picture? its to easy to get caught. they wont risk the consequenses. its hard to get on nfl or sports staffs and they just wont sacrifice that gig to give some hack or board guru info!!

and 99.8% of the time if some rumour or report pans out, it was a GUESS that they hit on.

did your guy give you bogus info on purpous? could very well be because you can bet all these people associated with franchises get sick of the bloggers and writers and board gurus picking their brains. constantly digging for info knowing damn well their going to run right for the first net terminal to report it to their paper, media office or team site so the board guru can get his props from his star struck fans!

so they probably do give guys false stuff on purpous just to have them go away.

cant blame them. a blogger or board guru has nothing to lose and their minions will fall for their spin should it all go bad from their "cant miss" source. the employee or insider has to much to lose by handing out team info. networks need ratings, so they CREATE buzz. they dont care to much what the info is, just as long as there's "info". manufactured or not.

i am sure you probably wanted to just share what you thought was worthy news with your finz bretheren with no other motive, not just to massage your ego and dazzle your followers. and i wouldnt feel to bad because the info was bogus. if a person gets anything from a team "insider" or connection, a team employee, they either want the info out to serve a purpous, or, they just want you to go away. not just "you" per say finatic, but the collective lot of info hounds with their CONSTANT brain picking. you cant blame them sometimes.

this is why i dont favor one writer or blogger over another and i dont subscribe to the board guru persona. were ALL guessing. its ALL our OPINIONS. nothing else. sometimes our guess is right, sometimes not. to me, thats part of the fun of sports. its all entertainment and people need to keep it in that perspective so their not so torqued at the media and fretting over info hoping their baord guru can sort it all out for them.

HAVE FUN! TALK ABOUT THE TEAM! ENJOY THE HYPE AND HOOPLAH AND RUMOUR, its all good, clean fun and its more fun if folks learn to keep it all in an entertainment context and come to grips with the fact no one "KNOWS"!!
 
Why should sports "journalism" be any different than mainstream journalism? There is no social responsibility to report the 'truth', only to sell papers 2nd and promote their agenda 1st. Just because they have no news does not mean they are not still paid to write... at least their opinion of what just maybe might happen (hopefully)
