Must Win Game to be a SB Contender?

Is the Tennessee game a must win game for Miami or not?

I believe it is. I think 0-3 would put us in a big hole. It would be difficult to finish at 11-5 and more likely the best we would salvage would be 9-7 or 10-6 - which might not even make the playoffs.

Further, we would not just be 0-3, but we would be 0-3 against AFC opponents - which does come into play in tiebreakers for getting into the playoffs or for seedings.

Beyond that, psychologically it would be another big blow. It would put us behind the 8-ball. It may require a number of games to get past .500 - the margin for error would be next to 'nil.

Is it possible to come back from 0-3? Anything is possible. But, this is still a must win game.

Earlier in the preseason I predicted we would likely start the season 3-3. That looks pretty good right now. I think we can do that and see the OL start to come around as well as Daunte getting more comfortable and then the D being able to add more complicated schemes. If we can be 3-3 after six games, with a touch of momentum from good play, we'll be in good shape for the rest of the season.

But, this game is critical to that, imo.

Must win? No! Division games are must wins! At this point, if we lose to TN, it would definately suck, but we could still rally and get into the playoffs with 3 losses. Last week hurt more than this week will. The only reason we must win this game is for confidence. We are playing a bad team. We need to show we are not a bad team and that we only had a bad game.

Any team can go to the SB once in the playoffs. The Pats proved that a few years ago. The Dolphins organization will make the right decisions to get us back on track. I WANT THE TITANS DEAD!!

I hate to say it so early in a season, but a loss to Tennessee AT HOME basically says we are done this year.

IF that happens, I would ALMOST think it is time for a major rebuild of our D. As it is, they are getting quite old and don't have much left. IF they dont' play well and show they have lost it ... Time to trade a few that have some value and worry about building through the draft next season.

Now that is a bit rash, but kind of shows how important I think this game is to the team.
