Round 1: DE/OLB Gaines Adams
Quinn is likely gone before this pick. I doubt we trade up. With the departure of David Bowens, we'll need a young guy to play behind Jason Taylor much like Matt Roth played behind Kevin Carter. And right now, Gaines Adams is the best JT-Type defensive end in the draft, as well as the best defensive end in the draft period after his combine. He can drop back in coverage, has an amazing first step, and has the fastest 40 amongst defensive ends. Plus he is hell on left tackles.
Round 2a: WR Robert Meachem
This guy can straight play. He'll need to learn how to runner better routes, but he practically has everything else. He has speed, size, and plus he can run after the catch. He really busted out his last year, scoring 11 touchdowns off of 71 receptions and 1,298 yards and nabbed a spot on the All-American team.
Round 2b: QB Troy Smith
Some say he is too short. However, a lot of players in the pasts was able to overcome that obstacle. Other than his height, he really has no reason why he shouldn't go in the first round. But if other teams want to let him slip just because of that, than so be it. He has a strong arm, great accuracy, and doesn't throw a lot of interceptions. And even though he is very, very mobile, he has a first mentality, so if he is forced to run, he'll always look for a target to throw to until he passes the L.O.S.
Round 3: CB Tarell Brown
Physically, he has all the tools you look for a cornerback. He can play the pass and the run. He has speed, he has a gambler's mentality, he has intelligence and instincts, Tarell is a total package. He can also play on special teams. He does have some character concerns, but he has the tools to be a #1 corner in this league.
Round 4: OG Mansfield Wrotto
As we all know, are o-line wasn't really crem de la crem last season.... as a whole. From Rex Hadnot to the right (after the Shelton/McIntosh switch) was actually pretty good, especially when you factor in Vernon Carey, who is proving more and more that he is one the best right tackles in the game right now. Now it is time for the left side. And with reports and rumors saying that Anthony Alabi is going to be the starting LT and the left guard spot practically being Joe Toledo's spot for the taking (at the moment), We'll need someone to play behind L.J. Shelton.
Enter Mansfield Wrotto. Intriging prospect. He is effective as both a pass protector and a run blocker. He has long arms, tremendous size (6'3" 317 lbs), is very versatile and can play in space. However, he is relatively new to the position, making him a project. Good thing we have Hudson Houck.
Round 6a: K Justin Medlock
Olindo Mare, despite his great career with the 'Phins, is starting to have one foot out of the door. Mason Crosby would be already gone. So second best thing is to go after Medlock. He is kicker that can have agreat career with us for over decade. He is had great leg and earned All-American honors.
Round 6b: FB Glynn Bostic (*slightly Homerish pick*)
Glynn Bostic is a actually a great fullback with decent speed and strength. He is a great lead blocker whenever he is on the field. Thing is, he doesn't see the field often and is seldom used as a rusher or receiver. But he does have good hands, which has been shown in the past.
So why is this pick slightly homerish? Well, simply because he is from FAU.
Round 7a: DT Quintin Echols
He is a mainstay in the center of Kansas State's defense. He can move his weight around is definitely a needed space eater in the middle.
Round 7b: S Roderick Rodgers
Why not? He has a good 40 time and could be a mainstay on our special teams unit.
