Love the site ( one thought... Proof reader, never seen so many and's without the d, spell checker doesnt pick those up)
Love the Bell as D player award... Porter has more glam, but Bell was great
I liked it. Entertaining and a nice format. The only pick I'd argue with is Cobbs...Not becasue he wasn't deserveing, but that you saw such a huge turn around on ST when Walden showed up.

A godsend? Seems like an exaggeration to me. He was good, sure. But five tackles in six games isn't a godsend. No better than Cobbs or Jason Allen.
Erm.....I didn't say "Godsend." That was somone else.
I hardly think it was a coincidence. Our coverage units were ABYSMAL. AWFUL is too kind a word. During the Seattle game I saw one instance where three guys were nearly shoulder to shoulder in front of the returner. One move eliminated 3 guys from the play.
The last few games the coverage units have gotten better at maintaining thier lanes, not being over-aggressive and tackleing 10X better. Walden looks like he's moveing at a different speed (faster) than everyone else on that unit. Like I said; I'd argue it, as I do now, but, overall you have to say Cobbs due to his overall performance and contribution all year.
MY point is that since Walden showed up, since we've been shuffleing players, as you rightly point out all year.......Suddenly the unit jells. I don't think this is coincidence.
I'm willing to bet the coaches would disagree. They kept working at it, they executed better, simple as that. Walden's a fine special teams player, but he doesn't change special teams unit from bad to good.
Maintaining lanes, tackleing, and measured aggressiveness are not difficult concepts. If our coaches have to take half the season to get those concepts across, then, we need new coaches. Walden had a big impact on the ST unit, and, it was evidenced by the excecution of the unit.
It's not about the concepts, it's about execution. Walden doesn't make 10 other guys play better. It just took about half a season for the unit to improve it's execute to a good level, and Walden happened to be added around that time.
