It's just perspective, guys. I think we surprised a lot of people last year but I don't see that happening again. I think Henne gets a chance to prove himself but let's be honest, he's probably not Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco caliber. We know how QB's in the league are. It's fact. We're in a tough division as it is. The Patriots get Tom Brady back and the Jets are much improved. It's a tough road schedule as well. I think our team will be better than the team last season as far as overall talent but I think we suffer some set backs.

The important thing is that we are absolutely headed in the right direction.

I'll be happy at 10-6, but I believe we are more of a 7-9 to 9-7 team this year. Unless our young defense learns really quickly.

Actually, that's the popular prediction, but no, it's not realistic. Last year Miami winning 6-8 at best was the so called realistic prediction, how well did that turn out?

Miami could end up with only 4 wins (if they get hit bad by the injury bug like in 07), or they could end up winning 12 games (if all the games fall at the right time for Miami like in 08).

The only realistic thing we know, Miami has a lot of inexperience, very good coaching, and good potential, now let the prediction fall where they may, and stop the "Realistically Miami can not win more then 8 games" crap, many thought the same last year, and are still forgetting the egg in face they have of being so sure doubting was the way to go.

I never said that we couldn't win more than 8 games, but with the inexperience, good coaching and potential that you speak of, that sounds like a good mix of mediocrity. 8 wins is about as mediorce as it gets in a league that is designed for every team to go 8 - 8.

My prediction: we'll be a better team than last year - whether or not our record reflects it.

Really, when I look at our schedule, the most difficult aspect is that we have no weeks off. The easy games are the Texans, Saints, and Jaguars. Taking each game individually, no team should overwhelm us. When I wrote out my predictions, I had us going 11 -5. But, that was me judging each game in a vacuum. I would love it if we could duplicate the 11 - 5 record, and I wouldn't be shocked to see it, but I wouldn't expect it. 9 - 7 makes sense to me.

I predict that we will win the Super Bowl !!!

And for "surprise outstanding contributor" I'll pick Cameron Wake.

Sean Smith beats out Vontae Davis and we go 7-9

And...I hope I am totally wrong!!!

why Is A 8-8 Season More Realistic To You? Do You Not Believe In The Dolphins?......you Guys Gotta Understand We Are Not The 1-15, Or Nick Sabin, Dave Wandsted Team Anymore, We Are The New And Improve Wildcat, 2008 Division Champs, We Are A Verrrryyyy Goo Team Now With A Lot Of Potential, 8-8 Is Not Relestic, ITS ALRIGHT TO BE MODEST BUT SAYIN YOUR TEAM WILL GO 8-8 AND MOT 11-5 MAKES ME QUESTION YOUR FANHOOD.... 11-5 Or 10-6 Is More Relistic If You Ask Me!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone can be "reaslistic", still think that we are going to be 8-8, and believe in the Dolphins. That is just their opinion.

My thoughts? I think we will have a winning record, and would be happy with it. I am excited to see the Wildcat.

Look at the schedule man. It's not a cakewalk. Some serious tough ones on that schedule. It's not that I don't believe. It's called perspective. It's stepping back, taking my emotion out of it, and not being a homer.

Not really, because inexperience with good coaching will hurt you less, Because the staff will find way to lessen the impact if the make mistakesand will teach get them up to speed then a coaching staff that does not have a good enough plan. Miami led the league last year in least maount of mistakes by the team, very few turnovers, penalties were as rare going a week without a Tom Brady story.

The Patriots when they won their superbowls, they were far from the most talnted team on the field, they rarely beat themselves, and when the other teams made a mistake, the patriots made them pay for it, this is the type of team Miami was last year, and with better talent, this is the team Miami will be this year.

Does this mean Miami can't have a have a horrible season, no, Injuries, young players not buying into what the coaching wants to teach them, bad attitudes, laziness, all these things can hurt the team, but if you look at this team, it has more then 8-8 talent:

QB: We have a very smart & consistant QB, a young big armed QB, and a very Athletic young QB....We're good here

RB: 2 very talented punishing RB, and a third that has good speed, and continues to improve

WR: We have no true #1 Receiver, but 3 talented WR that drop few balls, and 2 very tall WR that could help us in the redzone.

O-line: If all 5 starters can play, we have a very solid, to above average line, worse case, the Corners are set with two very good tackles.

D-Line: The Middle is solid, the Corners could be from very average, to extremely good depending on how good our 2 2nd year DEs look.

LB: This Group could be much better then last year if Wake is even close to the player he was in Canada, if he isn't, we will be just as good with Roth being a little better this year, and Porter probably not being as effective, we could also get JT< which would help this group even more

Safety: This will be one of the best two players at this position we have had in a long time.

Corners: I really think one of our two rookies will be as good as Goodman, if not much better.

This team has some youth, but they do have a good amount of talent, that with good coaching will make it tough to beat each week.

JCane you are normally pretty spot on, and this is not to say that you may not be again, but I really do not think a team that went 11-5 can be considered an 8-8 team realistically...MY opinion.
