My Biggest Question from Yesterday

He chose this path.

Yes, and let's not forget Wilson, Ewers, Skylar Thompson. Those are his "executive" super bowl moves, in addition to the ultimate irresponsible $220 million blunder. That's his decision making prowess. The guys us a dumpster fire decision maker.

Tua has CLEARLY regressed. I’m telling you, his concussions have taken a toll, someone better save him from himself before it’s too late

Certainly possible he stinks and is worthless. But again, can he not do what Tua did yesterday? Imagine if he could run a few yards for a first down. That would be a literal first.
I don’t think he’s worthless, necessarily. If he works through his mechanical issues, I think his accuracy will improve. With that, there’s no reason he can’t become a cost-effective backup.

He chose this path.
True but humans are built to survive and adapt. He is trying to survive so I bet he is telling front office that he can do better without tua.

Worst one min offense I’ve ever seen. Just terrible coaching
Coaching? How about coach who knows his QB is trash and will take the 3 instead of Tua f****** it up somehow coming away w nothing. You really had confidence Tua would lead team to a TD there?

After the Butler INT they took over at the NO42. 1:08 in half, first play is a 9 yard run and they call a ****ing timeout (last of the half). They get stuffed and then a 5 yard pass to Washington for a first down to the NO29 with 24 seconds left.

I understand who Tua is and that they don’t have many weapons. But what, honestly, the **** was running the clock down to kick a FG to end the half?

If McD doesn’t trust Tua, why is he being played?
I was thinking the same thing.

that was wierd. it was first down. so spike the ball right away. no downside. then you can at least decide what you want to do. if want to run clock and just kick the fg, run the ball on 2md down, spike it on 3rd. but that would be wierd too. you only do that if you dont trust the QB to try to advance the ball.

further, i thought it was awful tua could not convert the first and slid down short. no field awareness of where he was. just dive forward to make it, the defenders were not close and there was a lot of room. that whole thing was pathetic. having said that, after tua whiffed making the 1st down, i would have punted regardless of what the analytics say. make tyler shough go the length of the field.
Agreed. I said same thing. 8 point lead - punt it. It’s a two score game in a sense. At the same time it wasn’t the worst decision to try to get the 1 yard. McD has made far worse decisions. Tua not diving for the FD was terrible awareness.

Didn't scan every comment, so apologies if this is an echo, but it all started by calling the 3rd timeout way too early. There was plenty of time to get to the line and run another play to see if we could get a chunk of some kind, then use the time out or even a spike and STILL have plenty of time left. Calling that time out from around the 38 yard line or whatever with plenty of time on the clock (our last time out) was one of the clearest examples to me that McD is in over his head. No other team calls the time out then and there. I feel that hamstrung the team into what happened the rest of the drive (not having that timeout). You save that puppy...
