My Biggest Question from Yesterday

It’s not only that they do not execute the hurry up either. They do not seem to be coached up to perform other special task like onside kicks, Hail Marys or even simple QB sneaks which all can be valuable tools to win tight games.
That would take away from the time they use to practice touchdown celebrations!

After the Butler INT they took over at the NO42. 1:08 in half, first play is a 9 yard run and they call a ****ing timeout (last of the half). They get stuffed and then a 5 yard pass to Washington for a first down to the NO29 with 24 seconds left.

I understand who Tua is and that they don’t have many weapons. But what, honestly, the **** was running the clock down to kick a FG to end the half?

If McD doesn’t trust Tua, why is he being played?
I wondered the same thing at the same time. What kind of lack of trust is that? McD had no faith that Tua wouldn't screw up and cost us the field goal. I don't recall any Coaches taking the ball out of Marino'hands or any QB unless your QB is such a loser every instinct you have is to let the clock run down to 2 seconds and kick the 3 pointer. Tua needs to be benched because he is badly in need of a wake up call. Let's see Ewers lead a couple drives. What are we holding on to? The guy who can't be trusted not to hurt the team?

Not at this point in the season but since earlier in the year they could’ve made a trade if they felt the need to do so.
Again: Who? There are not enough starting quality QB's in the NFL, yet there are 32 starters every week. The good QB list is not all that long and they are not getting traded. Tua is sliding from quality starter to chicken little out there.

At least the team hasnt quit as they were 1-6 at one point and now 5-7!
There seems to be some leadership out there, I don't think it coming from the head coach either, so you're right They have not quit, but they are playing inferior competition.

Are we really absolutely sure Ewers is not the solution? Would hate to let him go and find out with another team, he is the type of quality QB we needed.

I really don't trust McDaniel and the coaches to be the ones that are making the decisions who might be the best option at QB.

We know Tua is declining badly, and we know Wilson, is, and always will be Wilson at QB, but what the heck do we have at QB with Ewers?
It's ridiculous that Ewers isn't starting now. Everyone knows Tua is not the answer. They need to find out if Ewers is. He has to know the offense by now for Pete's sake. The only reason Tua is starting is because of the stupid Tua contract. Ross is afraid to look like a fool for having a 50mil dollar player sit on the bench. However, he doesn't realize that he looks like more of a fool for still playing him.

Not saying it can be anywhere close to the same situation, but the Patriots had a top superstar round 1 QB in Drew Bledsoe, that I also believe was on a new contract, gets hurt, and a 6th round backup QB took over by the name Tom Brady that allowed Pats to go for a time, a cheaper starter.

Not saying Ewers is going to be Brady Level good, but until we give him a shot, we will never know what level of talent we have with him. They need to wake up, and make Ewers the backup, and give Tua very little rope to prove himself in, he starts being inconsistent, bring Ewers in, and forget Tua until Ewers gives you reason to bring back Tua.

Agree. This is the absolute perfect time to see what they have in Ewers. Its a lost season, but maybe a real positive could come from it. I'd rather see the young buck learn to find his footing, than watching the broken down veteran just go through the motions .

I have a new theory on Tua. He was talking about how he moves on from bad plays. He says I smell the air, I touch the grass and put my fingers together?? Is it possible he's taken up pot smoking? He is acting and playing quite differently so something's amiss??
