I love what BP is doing so far. He is clearing out a lot of dead cap money and trying th refresh our franchise. I am going to miss Zach though he was my FAV that man had the heart of a lion. So here is my off season for the Dolphins. I tried to keep it realistic as possible so tell me what you think.
Free Agency
Rumor has it on this forum that Flozell Adams is to hit the market. I think this is a no brainier he has experience with our staff and could be a guy to fill the gap till we have the ability to draft our franchise LT. This would move Carey to the right side.
So Flozell Adams 6'-7" 340 earned about 5 million last year with his age and hopefully his loyalty to his coaches he will take a slight pay cut to about 4 or so million a year.
Next we stay on the Offensive side of the ball. From what I've read it is really between two guys Bryant Johnson or Bernard Berrian I personally like Johnson better i think he just need a chance to be the MAN
So Bryant Johnson 6'-3" 215 25yr old earned about $665,000 last year he will def get a pay raise so i am thinking about 2 million a year might do it maybe 2.5 i'm not really sure but with relative young age and athleticism this should b a good price
Now we move to the Defensive side of the ball.
Rumor has it that with the resigning of Damione Lewis, Kris Jenkins might be released if so I say jump all over him. He has the ideal size at 6'-4" and 335lbs that he can be at the nose in our 3-4 he has had injuries in his past but he is coming off two productive seasons and i think he can occupy the space we need our NT to. He made about 2.7 million last year id say a little pay raise to bring him to Miami is a good choice. Maybe 3-3.5 million a year

With the Cards likely franchising Dansby and with Fitz contract probably being restructured Calvin Pace will probably test the free agent market he has the size at 6'-4" 272 and showed he can play OLB with a great season last year. He is young and could be a great addition to help rebuild the defense. He made $645,000 last year he will get a significant pay raise wil the open cap space i say go after him.

Draft: I am a supporter of john beck get him so weapons and a little more protection and he will be a good QB in the league.
First sad to say we need to trade JT. I have herd for a 1st rounder maybe 3-4 years ago i say the best we get is a mid to late 2nd rounder which is fine by me we need fresh bodies and youth on this team. So this draft includes a trade that Miami gets a mid second rounder from Tampa or Minnesota
1st Round
1st- Chris Long DE UVA 6'-4" 284lb- plays in a 3-4 helped a mediocre defense to a bowl game and in that bowl game faced the largest O line in the country and still was dominate Long is the pick here
2nd round
1st- Brandon Albert 6'-7" 315lb OG UVA i know what your saying a VA boy repin his UVA team actually i am a Tech fan but this guy is a mauler he is the best interior linemen in the country he pulls well great at the point of attack he is my first choice here.
if he isnt there i say Sam Baker 6'-5" 305lb OT/OG USC this guys credentials speak for themselves 3 time all American can play either guard or tackle is a very solid all around player. But Albert is my first pick
2nd- Brandon Flowers 5'-10" 195lb CB VA Tech no here is one of my favorite players. this guy hits hard is strong enough to jam at the line and can run with most anybody i think he will have great workouts and show how good of an athlete he is
If he isnt there Terrell Thomas 6'-1" 197CB USC this guy is the best player in a secondary that only allowed 9 passing TD's last year. Solid all around had a good senior bowl week his skills should excel at the combine.
3rd- [SIZE=-1]Jonathon Goff 6'-4" 235lb MLB Vandy this guy has the size and intangibles that BP is looking to fill the spot left behind by Zach. Those are some huge shoes to fill but i think this guy has the skill set to be an all pro.
3rd Round
1st Here is where i had some trouble this is where the TE spot is to be filled Rucker 6'-6" 255 TE out of Mizzou is a great athlete and has great hands but senior bowl coaches said he lacked body control and his blocking was weak. Carlson 6'-5" 256 TE ND is probably the pick here though he had a down year well so did the WHOLE ND squad he has soft hands and Ok block skills which should become much better with a HC with offensive line coaching in his background.
From here on out we need to add depth and who knows we may find our next diamond in the rough this staff in place really knows how to evaluate talent so i have no doubt they pick solid players.
LINEUP so next years starting roster should look like this if this all happens
Defense
Long Jenkins Holiday/Wright
Porter Crowder Goff Pace
Allen Bell Allen Flowers/Thomas
Offense
Johnson (Adams, Albert/Baker, Satele, Hadnot, Carey) Carlson Ginn
Beck
Mauia
Brown
Now i know this is probably wishful thinking but i think this team would be good sooner than later (not to mention alot of fun to watch) mbut still an average team. the FA pickups should not take to much money they are all reasonable and should help with rebuilding this teams reputation.
