It was Monday Night Football (no it wasn't...it was Sunday Night) on October 13, 2002 and my daughter and I went to the Dolphins vs. Broncos game...in camo-Dolphin gear.

It was near the end of the game and Denver kicked the go ahead field goal with :49 seconds left on the clock. The score was 22 - 21...and the crowd was going crazy. The noise level was as loud as when the Broncos kicked the Dolphins butt 38-3 in the 1st round of the playoffs in 1999.

My daughter and I covered our ears and crouched down in our seats. I looked at her and shouted, "These fools are celebrating with :49 seconds left on the clock."

When the clock struck ZERO...you could hear a pin drop in that stadium. I jumped up, turned around...and shouted "YOU LOSE! Hahahaaha!"

What a great moment! I hope to experience the same emotion next Sunday evening.

Wasn't that game a Sunday Nighter? It was a great win nonetheless. Crazy.

I was excited after that win. I was crushed to find out that Fiedler had broke his thumb the next day. Say what you want about him, but he defined the attitude of that offense which was pretty darn good at the beginning of that year. Although I didn't know the result, I felt a sense of impending doom when I found out about the injury. Little did I know from that game on, more than a decade of almost entirely futile and at times crushing football would follow. If Fiedler had not gotten injured, there is no way that team doesn't make the playoffs, but instead the way they would miss pretty much defined the next ten years. Even when Fiedler came back, he wasn't the same, and that carried over into the next season.

Sad to say, that game for me was the end of the Dolphins as a frontline franchise in the NFL, and that coincidentally was also the year I really became a die hard fan.

that was an AWESOME game. I remember being a freshmen in college that year and literally saying to my other friend that was a Dolphins' fan that was one of the best games I've ever seen.

Great game, but the season went off the rails after that thanks to Ray Lucas

Doesn't matter. That was a great game to be at as the "enemy".

That's why we went in camo-gear.

We wore navy blue Dolphin hats and wore grey Dolphin hoodies.

We blended in.

I learned that lesson the hard way on January 9, 1999 when I went to the playoff game there. I wore my beautiful Marino-era leather jacket. By the end of the game, it was soaked by beer that had been thrown at me.

Broncos fans...like Jets & Raiders fans...are the worst in football.

That Dolphin team was outstanding, and if Fiedler hadn't gotten hurt, who knows what they may have done. Ricky and that defense.

Al they needed was bare minimum quarterback play, and Lucas melted down beyond belief.

I was at the game, flew down from Seattle. Olindo hit the 50+ harder to win it. I was in pain when they went up on us. The third down conversion that fielder made to chambers was absolutely beautiful.

Side bar, Denver is a great place to visit, it's a great football town.

Fins up!

My. Bad it was the wife beater Randy McMichael!! Great win

Yes Sir! I was there and remember the silence from the Bronco fans! Priceless!

The focus of randy and dedric was amazing. The raw emotion from the players on the sideline was great to see. I didn't see that from the upper deck! Love it!
