I am a die hard Dolphin fan, they are the only team in all major sports I truly go crazy for. Last season after we started 0-7 I really didn't care any more. It was after the Patriot game that I got the feeling this wasn't our year. I honestly didn't care if we lost, and towards the end was hoping we would lose. I know fellow fans were saying you can't root for your team to lose, but we needed to. By winning meaningless games against the Chiefs, Bills, Red Skins, we could have severely hurt ourselves for years. Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin are what we need, and meaningless "pride" wins have cost us a chance at them. Now here is where it gets worse. I am all for Tannehill and I honestly think he could work for our future. He could make all of the thoughts above go away. However, if he gets taken before us, we are back to square one. It feels like last year was a wasted year, and us the fans will take the biggest hit for years to come. If we won meaningless games towards the end to take us out of the 3 top QB positions then the pain from 2011 was for what? The other theory being thrown around is trading up to #3 to get Tannehill. After seeing what the Redskins gave up, I'm assuming it would take at least next years #1 to move up. With Tannehill probably not going to play next year, and the way the team looks, we probably would be giving up another high pick just to move up. It really is a scary time to be a Dolphin fan. Besides the coaching staff, this team lost their most talented player (hate him or love him) this offseason, and didn't really upgrade any position on the team. These are more venting thoughts then anything else, but I had to get this off my chest.

I haven't heard anything about trading up to the #3 spot to pick a QB.

It's part of the Tannehill hype machine that the media is pumping.  Even Bill Polian suggests there will be plenty of action around spots 3-4 of the draft by teams looking to snag Tannehill ahead of Cleveland (or Cleveland itself at #4).  I truly hope we would not consider such a move.

I've been suprised before but I just can't imagine a team trading up to #3 for tannenhill. We know the value of the QB position but it is still a reach to take him at #8 if you just go based on talent across the board at other positions. If I were in a position to make decisions for the Fins I would call the Browns bluff that they would pick Tannenhill at #4. Their best running back is Hardesty (who is always injured) and their best WR is Greg Little (really?). I'm not saying Colt McCoy is their guy but, in my opinion, they couldn't pass on Blackmon or Richardson. I've also read that Holmgren is really high on Weeden. It's more feasable to me that the Browns fill their "Skill" need and address some competition for McCoy in the later rounds.

I feel pretty confident that Tannenhill will be there at #8.

im looking forward to an easy schedule myself. and kicking sachizes azz a couple more times. last year was new offense with no offseason with new pesonnel everywhere. not seeing the same outcome this year. I am actually seeing 10-6 provided we can be better than last years second half of season.

The team will be better prepared for the season, that's for sure.  Philbin will get this group together.  I agree - it can be a decent season with some luck and the easy schedule.  Enough to creep into the playoffs?  Perhaps.  I think Moore or Garrard will actually be decent enough to get us there (e.g. Pennington in 2008).  Now you can argue that's not a good thing, and it doesn't matter if you don't have a shot at the SB, yadda yadda, but boy does this franchise need a winning season and some excitement.  I can't tell you how dead 49ers football was and this season completely rejuvenated the fanbase out here.

Drew Rosenhaus said it Sunday night, that he's believes that's what it's going to take.

Gotcha. Well that would definitely bone the Dolphins in the draft which isn't good b/c that's apparently where they plan on building a winner.

Wouldn't take him too seriously when it comes to misinformation........it's his speciality.

It's not nearly as hopeless as last year heading into the season with a lame duck coach and knowing there would be no franchise QB. I think with Luck and RG3 off the board the best shot at a good QB is Weeden. Even compared with RG3 it's a close call I see positives and negatives with both.

Sparano is gone, that makes this season sweeter than last right there. All I can do is powerlessly sit back and hope the guys in the suits do the right thing with our no.1. If Tanny is our guy and he's taken at 3,4, thenI'll roll with it. If JI trades down with another qb, ok.
Last season was Sparanos decider, maybe this season is JI's.

I feel a lot better going into the season with Philbin over tony, and Moore/Garard over henne. Moore was an after thought last year. Henne was handed the job, Which doomed the season. I think we got lucky with Moore but the team definetly responded better to him. He has earned the right to compete. Garard is one year removed from pro bowl. Don't be scared. Philbin will be our best hc since the Don.

I absolutely concur!

What a ridiculous post. It is a scary time to be a Dolphin fan? Really? What are you 12? If you are scared, get a dog. People can't afford food and rent in this country - that's scary. Men and women in our armed forces live in danger every moment of their lives while serving overseas, that's scary. Being a Dolphins fan is scary? I guess it can be if you are afraid of the dark, the Easter Bunny, and clowns.

Lighten up.....it was an analogy.....this is fan forum...your remarks were unneccesary. I totally get the point he was trying to make.

I Seriously don't think anybody compares football to real life in importance....but it is an escape as this board is.
