Who of you can give some insight to this? If Joe Philbin is the type of coach that develops players before they become starters (at least that is what I have noticed many of you stating) how do you think the draft choices from 2013 did with regard to their eventuall starting roles or at least more playing time? Sureley Dion Jordan will get more playing time but are there any potential starters or studs coming from our last draft? The 3 most concerning to me may be Jenkins, Gillislee and Sims. If these 3 could at least add solid depth I think that would help tremendously.

Only potential starter from the last draft class that hasn't played much is Jamar Taylor but he has to stay healthy. I can see Jenkins and Sims providing solid depth. Dion Jordan may just be a backup unless we switch back to the 3-4...not sure he can add enough weight/strength to be effective against the run as a DE to be an every down starter. He may just be a situational player for us. Sturgis won't last too long if he doesn't improve his accuracy beyond 50 yards...kickers that can kick inside the 50 are a dime a dozen.

It was a horrible, horrible draft. Did I mention horrible?

Jordan and Taylor, in the long run, might save it. Don Jones probably will justify his late round pick. The rest of the picks were awful and will never repay the position they were taken, versus alternative players around them.

We had a huge number of picks in the deepest draft in years and we totally messed it up. Totally.

I don't particularly believe that Philbin is a great developer of players either. I think he values scheme fit over talent and so talented players have to sit on the sidelines till they become scheme fits.

That sounds very doomsday, whereas in fact I'm still openminded on Philbin. But last years draft was a debacle, Jordan and Taylor aside. Long term, Jordan will repay the 2nd rounder spent to get him. Short term, we probably could have done with the player it would have gotten.

Dion Jordan I expect to be a stater.
Sims decent chance top backup/ starter
Jenkin good chance top backup / starter
Sturgis starter
Davis / Nickle starter
Taylor / Backup Starter
Dallas Thomas is going to be interesting
Gillisspee \ backup running back
Jone \ special teams ace

jordan and taylor really the only two with the potential to develop into anything high end...

I'm not a draft guru and won't pretend to be one, but the player who disappointed me the most was Dion Sims. I thought he'd at least be a decent blocker.

He's a waste of time.
