My first Dolphins hat. Off season time killer.

So the other day I went over to help my mom move a couch. As we were moving things around she found an old box with some of my old stuff in it. First thing on top was my first Dolphins hat. My grandma had bought it for me for Christmas.

Every year she would get us two things out of the JC Penny catalog. Each of us got to pick one item while the other was a surprise. Well I of course picked a toy of some sort. My grandma picked this hat for me.

It was pretty gross. It hat those nasty sweat marks all around it. So I soaked it in a vat of water with Oxyclean for eight hours. It lost some of its colors, but doesn't look too bad. No it does not fit any more. Even unwrapped it doesn't fit. I will add it to my collection of Dolphins items.

Cool story DS. Always had a Dolphin hat for as long as i can remember but I cann't remember the first one. Probably in 1971 when they first went to the Super bowl. My favorite is the one they put out Ricky's first year in Miami. i still wear it but the rubber coating on the brim is long since gone.

Some of you might laugh, but I have only 1 hat, the navy blue FH hat with the Dolphin on front and go deep on back. It's well worn and faded, but I still like it because it is comfortable. When I wear it, I hope that a fellow FH friend recognizes it and says hello or if someone doesn't know where the hat is from, I can tell them about FH.

I never really liked hats lol

I have a Dolphins Brandon Fields jersey but thats afaik the only Dolphins thing I own, not much variety here. No pics, its at my mums on the other side of the Irish sea

As a kid I got all my Dolphin gear via the Sears ca talog...showing my age. They had the usual huge mittens, winter coat and wool hat. I don't have any of the stuff left but I wish I did as my son would get a kick out of it. Growing up in jets/giants country and wearing old school orange Fin colors caused a stir but I wore it proudly to school...talking 1970s here.

Maybe not my first piece but my most memorable one comes with a cool story....
For Cristmas when I was 8 in 1994 my dad got me a great present. I opened up the package and it was those weird sweat pant material with like the stripes horizontally in Dolphins colors. This was in 1994, so if you cant picture the Pants i'm talking about, maybe someone can post a picture..
Anyways I grew up in Sarasota, FL. He told me to try the pants on, and look in the pocket.
In the pocket was two tickets to that night's game (Xmas day 1994 against Lions)
I only remember the pants b/c we were throwing the football in the parking lot, running routes etc. I fell down going for a deep ball (tanny must have thrown it) and skinned up my knees through the pants which ripped huge holes in each knee. I sat through the game bloodied with huge holes on my new Dolphins pants! It didn't matter we won, I think 24-20 or something like that.

I can't remember my first hat, but the first important piece to me was a letterman jacket I got when I was 8. I wore it almost everyday in the winter (Phoenix winter...).

I can't remember my first hat, but the first important piece to me was a letterman jacket I got when I was 8. I wore it almost everyday in the winter (Phoenix winter...).

I think the letterman jacket was the first fins gear I had too. I think I got at sears when I was about 7. Up in Indiana in the 70's it was either Cowboys, Steelers or Dolphins, I think that jacket made me choose the Fins because I was always wearing fins gear after that in my Mom's photos.

This isn't my first hat (I'm on the left) but it's the earliest photo I could find, about 1985 I think.
