A lot of folks have been critical of Gase (and other coaches) on this forum. I have not-playoffs first year and second year had 6 wins in spite of a hurricane that led to no bye week, an injured rookie who was to be the QB of the defense, an awol LBer in week one, more injuries than expected, asst coaches appearing to do drugs, etc, etc.
I wish he had made his mind up about the back up QB. Then we could have kept Malveaux or Lippett or added someone.
Sure hope I’m wrong.

It is one roster spot. That isn’t going to make or break our team.

Until the fourth preseason game Fales seemed to have the spot tied up. Brock looked much better in that game. Brock has done enough to get a big contract offer. That hasn’t happened for Fales. I can see how Gase might feel he needs more time to decide. I can even understand him feeling that Fales might be the better choice against some teams and Brock against others.

I don't have an issue with the roster cuts. I also don't think this will be the exact roster we have by the end of the week. If ppl are arguing one individual v another, any move makes it a moot point. If you are arguing keeping 3 qbs makes makes no sense, I agree, but I doubt that we carry all 3 through the season.

Playing different QBs against different teams may make match up sense but what about timing, huddle command, continuity. My guess would be that those would suffer.

I think Gase is worried that Fales or BO would contain a treasure trove of information about his offense. Keep both for now but logic dictates that Fales has to go. BO sure surprised me but he can function in Gase's offense, 4 TD's!!!!

I have heard that we actually need 3 QBs for practice. Most teams have 2 on the 53 man roster plus one from the practice squad. Last year we were able to keep Fales on practice squad for much of the season and then he got promoted. QB is probably the most important position on the team. Fales and Ostweiler are probably pretty close in terms of the talent level displayed. I really don't have a problem spending an extra roster spot keeping both. It will be interesting if we pick up another QB for the practice squad.

Familiarity with new players and the time to get used to the speed and the game again. The guy hasn't played in over a year + injury...
Personally another major question for Gase at this time, should be the time that Tannehill played. New OL, WR's,rookie TE's and the fact that IMO more time actually playing real opponents would help kick off some rust and maybe get him into a RT groove for the soon to be Games, THAT EVERYONE KNOWS COUNT. Wouldn't hurt Gesicki either

You can honestly question right or wrong and evaluate if you think RT looked ready and in season starting mode from the little we've seen. Again fingers crossed but something a real head coach is Way ahead of....

#2 QB's not even interested in thinking about them...More hoping with not a lot of faith that Gase re-reads his Dick and Jane Football 101 the chapter importance of the QB and they go get a real one soon....(just one more of the previous many big time examples of he's not ready for prime time) that going over to many heads.......

Glad your first complaint of the coach is something so irrelevant.

Gase has made some mistakes, but it's easy to second guess and over-analyze each and every word, move and action. There is a lot behind the scenes and money matters do play a huge role in decisions. I do believe Gase is the best coach for this team at this time. We need some continuity. Turning over a roster every 3 years doesn't get us anywhere. We have some really talented players and some that need more time to develop. Ultimately, our fate lies with Tannehill more than anything else Gase can control. If Tannehill fails, then the only major failure, IMHO, is that Gase placed all his money on Tannehill and not draft a young QB.

I think you may have overread his minor complaint (if it even qualifies as that).

I may have yes, but these guys we cut should have no bearing on your day to make a thread about them is all I mean.

Bottom of the roster guys, meh.
