Ok guys here it is. I've stated several times I would like to trade down a bunch of times for future picks in order to acquire 2 additional 1st's in 2006 because of a chance to get Leinart and/or some of the stud LT's. But here's a different approach.

In each trade I assume we get very little value in return so please don't reply with "we are getting robbed" - if we can get more, great. But I think these are 2 trades that we can safely expect other teams to do.

1. We trade with Minny for #7 and their 2nd this year and next year.
2. We move down another 4-5 spots to get another 2nd rounder.
3. We acquire one more 2nd either by giving up Surtain or Surtain and our 3rd (whichever gets the job done).

1st Round: Alex Barron
2nd Round: Adrian McPherson
2nd Round: Matt Jones
2nd Round: Best available RB

Ideally if we haven't given away our 3rd then we use that (or move up a bit by offering our 3rd plus next year's 3rd, we'll already have 2 2nd's in 2006) to get a Center.

The key here is that all these players would be VERY cap friendly because of where they are getting drafted. This would put us in a better cap position then if we take someone at #2.

Since it looks like Ricky will be back, we'll have Ricky plus Marion Barber or whoever we take in the 2nd. Adrian McPherson and AJ Feeley as two promising young QB's, Alex Barron, Stockar McDougle, Vernon Carey, Ben Wilkerson (or whichever Center we take), Jeno James etc. all developing under Houck. And finally - Chambers, McMichael, Booker, Jones catching balls. I'm sure alot of these guys won't pan out but by trading down and taking a few guys we have a better chance that at least one will be a star.

Well this is my first mock (actually I think it may be the first time I started a thread). Tell me what you think/ what would you change?

your hoping we trade...i dont really like trading mocks cause its all guesses

Sorry man, but why bother trading at all if your not going to get any value in return. I know you don't want to here this but it makes no sense.

So is saying who we will pick in the draft. Nothing is for sure.

Buddwalk-
Oh I should have clarified. This isn't a mock where I predict what we will do. It's more of here's what I would do and here's how I think we will end up. I'm basically asking if the method is reasonable and more importantly if you think the outcome is ideal in that we are better off then we would be if we just did the standard (ie take Brown or Smith at #2).

Because the ends justify the means. It's OK to trade and not get value in return if at the end your draft turns out better. So even though we aren't getting ideal value, look at the end result (players drafted and team make-up) and decide if you are better off then if you didn't trade and just took Brown or Smith or did some other REALISTIC trade.
