All of the QB issues to the side I wanted to state my frustrations with Philbin and Lazor:

1st Philbin. I was excited when he first got here with his up tempo practices, going both ways and thought the teams would be well prepared. One thing I noticed during Hard Knocks is that he is not comfortable dealing 1 on 1 with people. He has got better....but there are 2 situations that really pissed me off this year and are making me question his coaching style. The first was at the end of the first half of the Buffalo game, with time outs left and we just run out the clock. That made me sick to my stomach and I think set a tone to the team.

The next one was the KC game at the beginning, after a good hard return by Landry and in KC territory on 3rd and 10 we run the ball on a play that had no chance to pick up the first down. He was already playing field position. Again, I think this decision sets a tone to the game.

Next Lazor - The best this team has looked is when we go fast paced in a 2 minute style offense. This is what all the hype was about during the off season and we have seldom seen it. This could fall back on Philbin dictating to Lazor....but it is mind boggling and obvious to most, but still we are huddling up and taking our sweet time for the most part and getting in no rhythm.

The last thing is this may all be on Tanne but for the love of Pete, the QB needs to run every once in a while. We start the preseaon with Tanne keeping the ball showing it was an option for a good gain and I think he has kept it once on a short yardage where it got blown up.....but it has been wide open for Tanne to keep the ball for big gains either on the read option or when the pocket collapses. This could all be on Tanne...but it is so damn obvious that it seems like he is being told not to run and run the offense through Wallace. Wallace has played much better this year, but we need to run the offense through who is open....Wallace is decent but not a Dez Bryant or Megatron type of receiver.

IMO we need to stay up tempo more, like we did to open the Preseason and get out to quicker starts. We have been behind in all 3 games to start the season. Tanne needs to play better no doubt, but these coaches are not setting this team up for success and they are starting to loose the players....which can get really ugly!

I hated the call to run out the clock in Buffalo. On the 3rd an 10 against KC sometimes you need to run on 3rd down. That one didn't upset me too much. It was early in the game.

On Lazor. It seems he is putting players in place to make plays but the players aren't executing. His system is new but has shown some promising signs in the running game. It's a start. They have to do better.

We have done well in uptempo situations. But if you do that all the time you can expose your defense to more plays faced. It also increases the number of decisions That your QB has too make. It would be nice to see it to open a game like we did in preseason though

I think this team definitely gets better with Pouncey and Morino back (and Jones on D).

the lack of quick starts under Philbin is at the root of all the issues to me. its been that way his entire tenure, the team needs to come out strong from the opening drive this week. I think under philbin we never had an opening drive TD. somebody can correct me if I'm wrong

We usually defer on the opening kick. In game one against patriots the offense scored on its first series via short field from blocked punt. Don't think we were flat to start that game. Brady just drove the field after that and took back the momentum

good point, but we still fell behind by 10 points at halftime. maybe the opening drive isnt the key to focus on but the entire first half

It really come down to 3rd down conversion on offense. We aren't sustaining drives cuz we are in he bottom of league in 3rd down conversion rate. Got to make a play and stay on the field early in these games

Was curious about this earlier today. First game this year, totally forgot about that already.

• With the 4-yard touchdown pass from QB Ryan Tannehill to RB Lamar Miller, the Dolphins scored their first opening drive touchdown since 2011. The last opening drive to start a season that ended with a touchdown was when QB Chad Henne scored on a 9-yard run, capping a 12-play 84-yard drive against New England on 9/12/11. Today’s opening score drive was four plays for 15 yards in 1:50.

Not a good endorsement for Philbins offense. 33 tries and it take a short field to get your first
