Though Landry's outstanding return TD was the game winning play, I think Lazor's play calling and design today was actually the reason why we managed enough plays on offense to win the game despite some absolutely crippling mistakes. There was a single drive where the playmakers on offense really manned up and just outplayed the Redskins, and that was ur two minute drive. At every other point (which was also when Hall was in the game), the plays that we did make almost always seemed to be because of great play design that sent the ball or the runner somewhere else than what initially appeared. My best example is that double screen pass to Lamar Miller that put the Redskins chances of winning on life support. I believe it was Landry who looked to be running a screen out of the backfield, I believe in motion, to the left, and Miller slips quietly out to the right in what was a win-win situation for the Dophins. Even if he didn't get the first the chances of that being incomplete are extremely slim, so it has the benefits of a run but with a potential for higher reward like what we saw.
Poor execution by the offense, specifically by RT, and some laughable freak plays really kept us from having a good day. The sack took points off the board instantly. RT just flat out missed a wide open Dion Sims who only needed the ball in the vicinity of him to score a TD. On top of that, this defense just really gave us very little chance to have a successful day on offense by staying on the field for the bulk of the first half against a second rate offense. A lot of people saw the offensive line not making game changing bad plays and thought it had a good day. I saw a lot of guys doing a terrible job getting push in the run game and whose pass protection, which could have been exploited, was largely made a minimal factor by quick hitting plays where RT had a couple quick reads.
