With pick number one we took Ryan Tannehill.. I think he is a good player may be a bit of a reach because I do not view him as a top 10 player in this draft but I do see similarities to Aaron Rodgers in terms of capabilities and play however I also see a lot of Mark Sanchez; where he goes from being good player to a very erratic passer where he has balls being thrown all over the field on very easy and simple passes. I give this pick a B because we finally picked up a potential franchise quarterback we at least tried to address it in round one and not in later rounds.
For our pick number two I have to admit we needed a wide receiver but I love Martin as our pick. He is one of the top players in this draft and when I used to watch game film of DeCastro I used to notice how much Martin stood out to me from being involved in the running game. I gave him a solid A-
In round three we took defensive end Vernon. I'm not sure how I feel about this because he isnt explosive as you need someone from the right end spot and he isn't much of a pass rusher but looks like a potential decent player. I will give him a C average grade just because of potential or else he is a C- D+ player to me.
We also took a TE in round three in Egnew. I believe he has potential to be a very good TE; he is quick, pretty fast and looks more like a receiver as opposed to traditional type TEs that we have. I think off potential he has a chance to be a good player but from what I watched on film, most routes were inside 5 to 6 yards as opposed to outside so it made it hard to find out how he can be outside of that but she definitely is a seam threat. I give this guy a C grade.
With our fourth pick we took running back Miller. Now I love this guy I don't care what was needed or not he was a steal, best player available with that said I 100% back this player and pick. Great potential to be a homerun hitter similar to Frank Gore dropping due to injuries. He has great speed, vision, and explosive. He is a great insurance policy in case Bush or Thomas go out to injuries or don't perform well. He can be a great backup for this year. I love this pick. I give this pick a solid A-
I'm going to skip the rest of the players as they will probably be a project but I will say that I do love what I saw from Cunningham and Matthew. I think one thing for sure is Matthews has the potential to be a good player with speed quickness and perfect for Slant routes however as you know, late prospects are always a project but I feel better about these guys than most probably do. I do think Matthews has a chance to be a good Player in this league. I give Matthews a C grade and Cunningham a C as well.
I will say this draft to me for the dolphin is a C+ draft with potential insanely to become an A draft.
