NOTE:Keep in mind that Parcells rebuilt the front seven,so don't bash about my think of our picks, because I think were only worknig on secondary and linebackers. And if you don't beileve me when I said we rebuilt the line,go to miamidolphins.com/team/roster and you'll see we have about 20 people,ALONE, in our front seven.
1:Jake Long(LT)-What better way to help along a....well....not all that young QB,at least his age,yet his experience, than to get him a self-assuring O-Line.Everyones talking about,"we need to bring in some help for Beck",and that,"we should not give up on him, because he didn't have the proper help".Yet,I see the same people saying were drafting Chris Long. And my only reaction is,"what?".And when I asked why not Jake, they say,"Oh....theres good depth in the draft,we can get one later...".And I couldn't believe what I read!I mean, what does that say to someone in Beck position?"Hey...John...Um,we were going to draft the best tackle, but we decided to hold off on that, and get a good one later.Sorry if there is any miss understandings or hard feelings".A QB is only as good as his O-Line,and yea,i like having a good one,but I'd rather have a great one.I mean, how can we possible go with Chris?Parcells said JT aint gonig anywhere,so there are no clear open positions,in which Chris Long can contribute as much as Jake can.Our D's front seven is already too filled, and if your paying $35+M to someone to play for you, youre going to want to get the most, and best out of them. How can we assure that for Chris?Even if you do find a way to get Chris is there,he still will have to rotate a lot more often than Jake would.Jake is the best, and there is now possible way you can explain to your future QB that they didnt want to give him the best, but a good one...its kinda hard not to want to "why?"
2A:Kenny Philips(SS)-As i mentioned, our secondary is yet to be redefined, and Kenny would be a great start, and Kenny is a great talent, just needs to have the correct coaching.I think MIA FO can bring out the best in him,and I really do believe he can be the next Ed Reed.Remember, reed had the same questions as Kenny does now,and now he is argueably the best in the league(to the default of Sean Taylor[RIP]).Kenny is fast, can make plays on the ball, and he can really hold his own.Yeremiah Bell is 30 years old,and only a 1 year contract,I can say almost certain that this is his last year here,so another SS is in order.I can see Parcells also targeting Brandon Albert(OG-OT)[if he is there,McShay says he might],James Hardy or one of the four CB's in Jenkins,Talib,Flowers or King because one of them should be there.
2B:Shawn Crable(OLB/DE)-IMO he is the next Shawne Merriman. This kind can reall play football, and has Parcells written ALL over him.6'5",245,and he runs a 4.6!He has a knack for making plays behind the LOS,and he has tremendous strength and power. He is a dominating tackle, with high intensity and aggressiveness running through his veins every time he steps on the field. He has a good motor, and he does a good job blitzing the QB.The only thing he need to work on is his awareness and his change in direction, but overall great player.IMO he is the only LB I think Parcells is REALLY interested in.
3:JerMichael Finley(TE)-I truely think its about time to get another TE in here, and if any of you saw the combine show he put on,you'd agree with me in saying he is a great Pass Catching TE.He has good Eye-Hand coordination and he is fast for his size and for a TE.I think he can be better than Randy McMichael was for us.Plus,TE was the position that Beck what mainly working to last season, mainly because Cameron didn't go long with Ginn, because the O-Line couldn't hold up long enough.JerMichael,IMO,is top 3 recieving TE in the draft.
4:King Dunlap(OT)ouy of Auburn
6:Jamar Adams(SS-FS)out of Michigan
7:Brandon Keith(OT)out of Northern Iowa
the only reason I think were drafting 3 OT is because we only have 2 Tackles, and Im not so sure about Julius Wilson,he is listed as a Tackle, but, hey,I wouldn't get excited about it.
