-Ricky is back

-Jason Taylor is still the great Jason Taylor

-Welker earned a spot on our team

-Ronnie showed he has power (despite his average performance)

-Our Defense is still pretty good and should help keep us in games

-Our offensive system will be exciting to watch

-Chambers is underrated

-Boston is better than Booker

-We need help in the secondary

-Channing Crowder could really be something

-Our O-Line showed signs of life

-We have no QB

my 2 cents

if we have no QB's why are you so certain about your WR's?

I've been saying this for weeks. I hope someone on the coaching staff is reading this thread. Marty Booker will make a fine flanker.

Yes, we do. Saban just needs to stop doing a Wanny impression and put AJ back with the first team and leave him there.

The WR's played great despite the bad throws.....Frerotte was going to have one intercepted but it bounced off the defenders hands, only for Chambers to catch it....it was great concentration by Chambers (again)....If I recall correctly he caught one on the ground 2 weeks ago....Boston made some real good moves after the catch, he showed he really wants to start.

Bottom line, the WR's are doing their job when the ball is thrown to them.

:yeahthat:

I dont think chambers is underrated or overrated... IMO, he's characterized fairly as is, very good talent (not great or elite echelon as some of you purport him to be), with ample room for improvement... last game he dropped at least 3 or 4 balls that a "great" receiver would come up with... he looks a little hesitant to make a tough catch in traffic (maybe not completely over the kennedy incident?)... This year he should break out in Linehan system, comparatively to what he's done recently: meaning 75 balls caught, 6-8 tds, and 850-900 yds, not moss-like, BUT NOT TOO SHABBY either...

all i heard about chambers last night was that he dropped everything. and quite frankly im sick of arguing over boston and booker. its really not all that important.

Well, depends what you consider "dropping" a pass....if you want to consider Gus Ferrote throwing it about 5 feet over your head, then yeah,... he dropped pretty much everything....

I only saw Chambers drop one pass and that was because he had to adjust keeping both feet inbounds on deep pass from Frerotte....everything else were poor thrown passes.

1) Chambers DEFINITELY didnt look under-rated in this game. He played pretty badly for his standards. I usually agree he does not get the publicity he deserves as a great receiver, but he did not have a good game at all.

2) Help in the secondary? I thought our pass defense was phenomenal. Aside from the HOF game, our secondary has played lights out... especially the 1st team. Please clarify what you saw that made you think this.

That's a bunch of bullcrap, no offense. They're both at fault. I watched the first half twice:

1) Most of Frerotte's throws were good throws. He had 3 bad passes that were long ones. Plus one bad medium throw.
- He had a couple of drops that shouldve been caught
2) Face facts, we don't have Peyton or Culpepper, so maybe we should drop our friggin expectations to say an average level QB, then these 2 don't look so bad
3) I've said on other posts, I would like to see Boston surplant BOoker at #2, but something I noticed in the game, he's not helping the QB. Twice when the ball was thrown up, he didn't make a play for it or try to keep the defender away. It's like he's afraid jumping will bust his ankle again.
4) The two overthrows by Frerotte to Gilmore and Chambers? might be solved by better timing.
5) Feeley still has the best potential, but right now Frerotte is better.

The TD that was called back....Galloway beat Yeremiah Bell one on one...had it not been for the penalty, that TD would've counted....Travis Daniels got beat twice (I'm not saying he's bad) he definetly looks like he;s got potential, but he lacks experience....Howard has only had one good game and that was against Pitt....

I believe our secondary has played average....they're hanging in there, but I believe we need some help.

Wrong wrong wrong. Bell was not beat. He was actually in perfect position, even the announcers made that point, and basically he just turned the wrong way at the last second and the ball just cruised by his face. He definitely was not "beat" by any stretch. In any case, Bell is in there for now but its not like he is all we have at FS- Schulters could easily step in at this point. And I fail to see how you can say Travis and Reggie have not played all that great considering our pass defense in three of our four games has been just stellar in terms of the other team putting points up through the air.

i noticed that however small the amout of gameplanning saban and his staff put into this game, it made a huge difference in alot of our first team execution

Whats up with Mario edwards at this point? is he a dime db?

He is going to be a cut CB pretty soon. I remeber watching ALOT of Dallas games (my buddy likes them) and it was horrible, almost every play Edwards would either get beat or penalized, if he stays I will be VERY surprised.
