first off i am not happy we didnt make the playoffs but we had a lot of injuries and basicaly a rookie qb, so overall we did the best we could.
but this is what i would do to get this team to the next level.

1.fire the D cordinator, the guy is just plain dumb, putting jones on andre johnson just showed how dumb he is goodbye!

cuts:
1.gerbril wilson
2.joey porter
3.teddy ginn
4.jason allen

resign:

1.ronnie brown, unless u can get a 1st
2.fasano, he is decent and will be cheep
3.bess
4.taylor, situational, leader

free agents:

1.ben watson, our offense was alot better with 2 decent TE'S
2.malcom floyd, i know everyone wants jackson or marshall but they wont be out there and floyd will give us the big target we need.
3.casey hampton, soliai has been doing good but you need 2 good NT's
4.dawan landry, wilson sucks, clemons isnt the answer he is not fluid at all. landry is better.

draft:

1st-rolando mclain ilb, bama- boy do crowder and ayodell suck
2nd- ricky sapp olb, clemson
3rd-myron lewis cb/s vandy
4th-demarius thomas, wr georgia tech, this guy is a monster that played in a run all the time offense steal of the draft
5th-dexter mcluster, wr/rb/kr/pr, ole miss
6th-dekoda watson, olb fsu, speeeeeed
7th-cam thomas, NT, nc state

our starting teams will look like this:

qb-henne,white,thigpen
rb-brown,ricky,mcluster
fb-polite, hilliard
te-watson, fasano, haynos
wr-floyd, hartline, bess, camarillo, thomas, turner(wtf)
*Oline stays the same*

de-langford,mcdaniel
nt-hampton, soliai
de-starks, merling
ilb-crowder, torbor
ilb-mclain,ayodell
olb-wake, taylor,
olb-sapp, anderson, d.watson
cb-w.allen,jones
cb-davis, smith
ss-bell,culver
fs-landry, lewis

kr/pr-mcluster

You are aware that the SEC is not the only conference in college.,, right?

i would looooove to get mccluster. this kid his a playmaker but i think we will need a better reciever in the offseason than floyd. i'd rather have byrant

oh geez.. there is going to be 10,000 of these threads bandied about over the next few months

Almost as many as the playoff generator threads. lol

Tell ya what.. Why don't you wait until right before free agency to see what players will actually be available (who teams re-sign and let go, what trades will be made etc).. And then talk about the draft afterwards.

Because a ton of things can happen before then.

But I'll play along on one of your notes... if Miami is relying on paying tons of money to Malcolm Floyd then they are in trouble.. With all the great QB's they've had there, Brees and Rivers - Floyd has only hit 600 yards receiving once in SIX seasons.. He is very overrated and doesn't do a good job gaining separation.

He is just very lucky to have Vincent Jackson and an all-world tight end like Antonio Gates taking attention away from him.. But as a #1 Malcolm Floyd would totally suck. And it would be a HUGE mistake paying him a lot of money.

The Dolphins would be much better served getting a real #1 WR.. Not another average one... Miami has plenty of those already. I've watched Malcolm Floyd very closely, and he is not the answer - trust me... A guy like Miles Austin has way more natural talent than Floyd ever had, or ever will have. He's 3 times the receiver Floyd is.

since you're all into "wish lists" and all

He won't make it to us and we should get a WR in FA. I like McCluster too.

History has shown that the (2) most common traits to win the Superbowl are (1) a great OL and (2) a great Defense. That being said a GOOD Qb doesnt have to be great and a good RB and a good WR WILL be able to play THEIR game if the LINE holds the D off for enough time. The GREAT line opens the hole for the GOOD running back to make him look even better. The GREAT line gives the good passer more than enough time to find a open WR that gets open because the GREAT line give the QB so much time they get to run the route that was designed for them, not under thrown or half a route do to line break down. Now for the D a great D keeps THEIR offense off the field and OURS ON THE FIELD. Address these areas and we will be that much closer to holding up the Lombardi trophy......IMO

The Steelers O-line last year stunk.. They were 23rd in rushing and Roethlisberger was sacked often.. But they had a great QB and good WR's and TE... to go with their D.

And the Cardinals had the worst running game in the NFL last year. But they had a great QB and great WR's.

^ Those were the two teams in the Super Bowl.

The key to win in this day and age is having a great QB with great weapons on the receiving end (that includes the tight ends).

Look at the top teams in each of the conferences this year.. In the AFC you Manning, Wayne, Dallas Clark.. and in San Diego, Rivers, Gates and VJ.

Both the Colts and Chargers have mediocre at best running games.. It doesn't matter because having the ability to pass well with quick strike ability is a better way to gain points than 3 yards and a cloud of dust running the ball... There are just too many things that can go wrong on offense when you rely on 14 play TD drives to score.

The top seed in the NFC has a highly ranked passing game with Brees, their WR's and Shockey. McNabb and the Eagles with their young talented weapons at WR have a very good passing game this year.

The game is changing, The rules benefit the passing game. The Dolphins better get some weapons with some real talent and athletic ability at TE and WR if they want to compete.

And they better learn how to stop the pass on defense. Because the top teams in the AFC will all have top passing games in the foreseeable future.

how can anyone want a QB in the draft with what henne has done with no playmakers

Insurance.........If he gets hurt and what are we left with?

drafting defensive players is a lot better then offensive guys and a QB, defensive guys can play right away, its all about edge rushers, and defensive tackle, with a safety, the wideout you could sign free agent wise, we have a QB now thank god, and this is the third draft off of 1-15, less holes to fill now, a little better luck on injuries and some better officiating and the phins are right there

I would rather see us sign Dansby and Wilfork in FA. Obvious we need a play making receiver, but right now I don't see any hitting the market. Remember in a uncapped year they have to have 6 seasons to be FA and Jackson and MArshall don't have that. I still think some very good vets will come available duh to some teams clearing cap space. Guys like Steve Smith, Santana Moss and Boldin.

We need a little luck in finding a playmaker at WR, because the big name free agent never seems to come to Miami until they are on the downside in their career. A guy like Miles Austin, undrafted out of college, signed as a special teamer is very possible. Just have to trust that Ireland and Parcells can do their job. Oh yeah, who signed Miles Austin to that Dallas team?
