1. Lamar Miller vs Daniel Thomas: I think it's time on the short yardage carries to give Miller the ball (or bring back Javorsky). I know the thought is that Thomas is bigger and should be able to get a yard but he consistently tends to fail in these situations. At the end of the day, Miller has better vision and is more elusive so maybe if a lineman does get to him in the backfield, he can escape as opposed to run right into him and fall down.
2. Bryant McKinnie: This is looking like a solid move thru 2 games to me. I can't see I have really seen him get burnit too badly, especially compared to when Martin was on that side. Not a longterm solution by any means but looking like a good mid-season move so far.
3. Tannehill under center: I wish they would do more of this. I think the Fins run it better with a full back plus there is that much more protection for Tanny if he does decide to throw. Not to mention, play action definitely opens up that receiver Miami paid a boat load for in the off season. I know this isn't Sherman's style but that may be the reason to do it more.
4. The Cornerbacks: A lot of people questioned losing Sean Smith and Vontae Davis for Grimes and Patterson but the very obvious difference for me and why I like the new guys is that they go for interceptions. The two picks last night and the one Patterson had last week showed their ability to go after the pick. Smith and Davis tackled ok and would knock a pass down but how many picks did they always seem to either drop or just flat not even go after. Grimes and Patterson want that ball and other than Grimes falling down 20 times last night should get a ton of credit for that win.
5. Cam Wake is a BEAST when healthy: That's all...you guys know this
Other than all of this, I give the team a lot of credit last night, especially the defense. That was a gutsy win coming off of 4 losses and the Jonathan Martin situation making national news. I even saw Wallace throwing his hands up and congratulating Tanny when he scored instead of being pissed he didn't get the 1 yard TD. These were the wins they got early in the season that they didn't against the Ravens, Bills and Pats and hopefully they will build off it.
