Here is my pre-training camp record analysis for our Dolphins . I included a little blurb of why I chose each decision.
This of course is a really early prediction, seeing I don’t like to look until after preseason. But I am bored at work. By no means is this a deep analysis, just my feelings as an NFL fan. These feelings can also change with each passing minute.

Week 1 - Dolphins @ Falcons
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: Dolphins healthy O-line against a suspect Atlanta run defense.
Record: 1-0

Week 2 - Dolphins vs. Colts
Result: Loss
Deciding Factor: New O-coordinator or not. Peyton Manning vs. a young secondary, gives the fins a loss
Record: 1-1

Week 3 - Dolphins @ Chargers
Result: Loss
Deciding Factor: I know we squeaked one out last year, but that was a slumping SD team. I just think SD has too many weapons.
Record: 1-2

Week 4 - Dolphins vs. Bills
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: We had our popcorn ready.
Record: 2-2

Week 5 - Dolphins vs. Jets
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: Mark Sanchez growing pains.
Record: 3-2

Week 6 - BYE
Result: A loss for every Dolphins fan to not have the Fins play.

Week 7 - Dolphins vs. Saints
Result: Loss
Deciding Factor: This game could go either way. The Saints seem to be a bi-polar team. I give them the win due to the homefield
Record: 3-3

Week 8 - Dolphins @ Jets
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: I’m going to be called a homer here, but I think the Jets is a sweep for our fans. I may be partial but I really don’t like anything about their offense.
Record: 4-3

Week 9 - Dolphins @ Patriots
Result: Loss
Deciding Factor: After the Wildcat debacle last year, I see Belicheck with a chip on his shoulder and his star QB back.
Record: 4-4

Week 10 - Dolphins vs Buccaneers
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: Bucs are rebuilding.
Record: 5-4

Week 11 - Dolphins @ Panthers
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: Another toss up game here. I think we beat the Panthers or a Saints, not both. I give the win to the fins. I believe our rush defense will hold them,.
Record: 6-4

Week 12 - Dolphins @ Bills
Result: Loss
Deciding Factor: I am giving the Bills the win in Orchard park. TO is a matchup problem.
Record: 6-5

Week 13 - Dolphins vs. Patriots
Result: Loss
Deciding Factor: Sorry all, I have the Pats sweeping our fins this year.
Record: 6-6

Week 14 - Dolphins @ Jaguars
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: MJD is a great player. But 2 rookie OTs can be tricky against a 3-4.
Record: 7-6

Week 15 - Dolphins @ Titans
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: Finally get the monkey off our back against the Texans. I see the Texans potentially competing for a wildcard this year. However, I can’t see all our their O star healthy all year. I get Shaub or Slaton are sidelined for this game.
Record: 8-6

Week 16 - Dolphins vs. Texans
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: I just don’t believe in the Titans being as good as last year. Losing Haynesworth is a huge hit. Chris Johnson’s ego is out of control and Kerry Collins is still a trainwreck at points.
Record: 9-6

Week 17 - Dolphins vs. Steelers
Result: Win
Deciding Factor: This is a situation of what are each of the teams playing for. Most likely Pitt will have their division wrapped up. Sorry Ravens. The Dolphins will be fighting for playoff lives. Emotional edge, Miami.
If this was a game in the middle of the season. I give it to the Steelers.
Record: 10-6

Now the Million Dollar Question. Does this get us in the playoffs.
Answer: I have no idea.

Give me your thoughts/ribbings. I tried to be a fair NFL fan, but probably have my Aqua glasses on a bit still.

IMO if we can beat the Falcons we can beat the colts. The Falcons at least have a running game. Netiher team has a good defense. I could see Ronnie having a huge inpact in the first 3 games as all of them have suspect run defense.

Well done...

You might get ripped a little because of how early it is for making season predictions but it is a fun excercise in a mindnumbingly slow time for football fans... I say 'why not'?

I agree with alot of your predictions though I would reverse the Saints and Panthers... And I don't think we beat the Jests twice as hard as it is to say it.

11-5

I really disagree with your Colts prediction.. That team is on the downhill.. I'm sure Dungy saw it, and that's why he left.

I see the Colts not making the playoffs next year and having a record resembling 8-8.. Watching the Bears manhandle them at the point of attack last year, on both sides of the ball, really opened my eyes on how lacking they are as a team.. As well as the Colts getting creamed by the Chargers at the line of scrimmage in the playoffs.

I easily see the Falcons beating us more in their home opener than I do seeing the Colts beating us in our home opener, on a Monday night no less.

The Colts are seriously undersized on defense and our O-line and offense will have their way with them.. No more Harrison as a threat I think will hurt that team more than some will care to admit-- Not to mention their new coaching staff and the adjustments they will have to go through.... but you will see it next year, and you can come back here and see that I told you so first.....

Of course it will be our home opener on a Monday night with a raucous crowd. The Dolphins, THIS Dolphins team, will not lose a Monday nighter home opener.. The Dolphins are just too well-coached to lose to a team that's so undersized, that has such a bad defense at the point of attack, in a home opener on a Monday Night..

Just ain't gonna happen..

I actually completely agree with the Colts falling off big time this year. 8 or 9 win is where I see them.

But remember when we had Marino and we could win any game because of that.
Marino now wears #18 and plays for the Colts.

I just see a match up problem with the Colts. We have no lockdown corner to cover Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark provides matchup problems for everyone. Not to mention its even too early in the season for Joseph Addai to be hurt. You also site the Homefield advantage. To be honest the crowds Miami brings in are probably one of the weakest in the league.

Again this is just my opinion. I just think we will lose to the Colts, you do not. Its too early to tell either way, I just wanted to elaborate more, because you made nice points.

PS: Just to wonder when you say 11-5. You seem to hint at us possibly losing to the Falcons but beating Indy. Who would be your 11th win if this is true?

imo we could go 12-4 or 11-5 as we may loose 2 more games to either the pats or panthers but imo i think we split with NE and the other loss theres always a surprise in there that some team wins that you dont think .but i think we are a solid 11-5 team this year bearing no injurys
